My experience appears to mirror others who have dealt with Herrons.Bought a brand new Sightron scope from a reputable large Sydney Firearms Dealer. They shipped it to me promptly. Before mounting this brand new scope, I noted that the side focus/parallax adjustment was faulty and scope would not focus at all.Back it went via mail to the dealer, at further expense to me. Dealer took the scope directly to Herrons, expecting to be given a replacement, as the product was defecr4from new and never fitted or used.But no, Herrons told the dealer that the scope needed to be sent off to the Asian factory for repair. This may take many months to return back, in the current climate.This was a brand new item, defective from the factory, mind you.I had ordered several more Sightron scopes prior to the failure of this one. Needless to say that I cancelled that order and the dealer (one of the largest in the country with turnover) has ditched Sightron from their inventory and sent all remaining scopes back to Herrons.The dealer had informed me that although the Sightron product was generally very good, warranty via the Australian agent (Herrons) was non-existent.I am hoping that the dealer helps me out, by allowing a credit to purchase something reasonable. However, neither the dealer ir customer should be out of pocket here.I will be taking thus up with the Department of Fair Trading. This mob is a far cry from when Keith Herron ran it. Mark Herron is an imbecile who has no idea of how to run a business. I'll never buy another thing that they import.Do you due diligence before using Herron's. It will only burn you in the long run.

The most incompetent bunch of people I have come across. Whatever you do never buy a Merkel full stop. Herron are the importer and their behaviour and customer service is contemptuous. It goes beyond that .There is only one Merkel approved repairer in Australia and he really does not understand the laws around shipping firearms.I sent a rifle back to Herron's for repair. I get a phone call indicating it will need to go back to Germany for repair which will take up to 6 months. I tell the guy not to send it back I will address the issue with Herron, however back it goes without my permission or sanction. In short exporting a firearm without the owner’s consent. This has got to be illegal and if it isn’t it should be !!!I call 6 months later to check where it is up to and it has been ceased in the Middle East due to incompetent and non-compliant posting. Do Herron care not a rats..Not only did they export the dodgy firearm they left my scope and sling on it which nearly 12 months later I have not got back. I keep calling Herron for an update however they tell me today they are having a hard day and really cannot be bothered with my issue … Great customer service Herron!!!Dealing with Herron’s is like an online rip-off … Wait there is more!! Unfortunately I had already bought a shotgun combo off them as well . I have been trying to get mounts fitted to this unit and it has been to Herron’s for review and recommendation / supply of the mounts … 2 times no less..Guess what they get it wrong either deliberately or due to almost criminal incompetence. Here is the drum that sort of sounds the type of misfits Herron is ..…They sell Merkel …. Merkel fit EAW mounts … Easy Herron sell EAW one would think…. NO NO NO Heron sell MAK and recommend you buy MAK and get the mount custom fitted and machined. They do not tell you that EAW would fit they stuff you around routinely and for one purpose their profit and your inconvenience.DO NOT BUY FROM HERRON UNLESS YOU HAVE TO

I bought a Sightron scope, it developed an issue. Herrons are the importer. They were unaware of the lifetime guarantee offered with Sightron products. They held the unit for a month before sending it away for repairs. They are sloppy with their customer service, ignore emails and are wilfully ignorant of basic consumer law. Very disappointing experience. If you are a business that prides itself on great service avoid dealing with Herrons.
