The food was above average for schnitzel night. The service was amazing by the very friendly staff. Only down was lighting was dim & needs a little more ambience but overall very good. Will definitely go back again

Dined here with a social group of 14 everybody thoroughly enjoyed their meal, the staff were very attentive and helpful. They also had a good knowledge menu and the produce. This is the second time we have come here as a group and will definitely be back. Thank you and your staff for making our evening so pleasant

We decided to try The Toorak Hotel after its reopening. I ordered the mushroom risotto which came to the table barely warm & it would appear it was sitting under warming lights for a considerable amount of time. There wasn't any fluid left & whatever there had been was dried up as you could see the original line above the edge of the risotto. It looked very unappealing having flattened to the bottom of the bowl to a depth of an inch at best & to top it off, it didn't have a lot of flavour. I couldn't identify what was on top as it had dried out completely. My meal & another came out, then the other two meals came out about 5 minutes later. By this stage my risotto had softened & was no longer Al dente, just soggy. The other meals looked okay, service was friendly & atmosphere was nice. I assume this was just teething problems with the reopening but I did expect a little more from this group. I'm not sure why they asked on booking if we were celebrating, as it was my friends birthday & it wasn't acknowledged. For vegetarians there was limited offerings.

Disappointing. Was excited to be coming here all week. Plenty of staff, although not doing a lot other than talking to each around the bar area. Took drink order of 2 of us and left without asking the other 2 people if they wanted a drink. Medium rare steak served med well. Calamari smoothed in salt. Chicken Parma average, worse of all was the peppercorn sauce. 2 people at our table had it, both couldn’t have it after first taste, had a strange vinegar/chemical taste, told the staff who said they’d let the kitchen know. Sticky date pudding for dessert was the highlight, with the exception being that the strawberries tasted very strange/garlicky, I’m guessing as they were sitting next to something in the fridge that they shouldn’t have been. 1 member of the group (of 4) spent the night very ill. Reasonably priced menu, but expect when you have a small menu offering that you’re going to nail the dishes. Place has amazing potential, but you have to get the food and service right.

Great pub! Love the new renovation. Clean and tidy. Perfect place to watch the footy! Veal schnitzel is 10/10

This place has transformed with the new renovations.The food in the restaurant area out the back is great with a nice separated dining experience.My favourite is still the front bar with live sports, cold beer and a great atmosphere. A beautiful long bar and exceptional bar service.Well done Toorak Hotel!

Wednesday is $30 steak night. I was impressed with the interior of the restaurant which was fancier than I expected for a pub. The service however was pretty atrocious; staff were walking around aimlessly yet no one came to take our order, no one ever offered us water for the glasses that were on the table and we were ignored by several staff members who stared at us blankly upon arrival without asking if we wanted a table or had a reservation.Food wise the steak was very average and definitely not medium rare as requested. The chips were nicely seasoned and the mac and cheese croquette entree was pleasant enough but definitely not somewhere I will return in a hurry
