My Dad had his old cine movies transferred to DVD about 25 years ago. After he passed away I took the original reels to Rob for him to transfer to DVD again. Rob explained to me that back when Dad had transferred them to DVD, it was done in a very basic way which explained why a lot of them were dark and dull. I was amazed at the difference with the transfer that Rob did for me. Not only were the colours more vibrant, but the clarity and widescreen" version that he did have pleased me so much. Excellent service and quality at a modest price. I received a number of strong recommendations of companies that could reliably and affordably transfer 16 mm film to DVD in Melbourne, but Cineclair turned out to be the best. It was a large job with 15 reels shot by my grandparents from the 1930s to the 1950s. Priceless footage that Rob converted with the utmost care and attention to detail. He indexed each reel on the DVD, without treating this as an extra, then asked how we would like them presented before packaging the discs in their cases exactly how we wanted. I will be returning to Cineclair with other film and video conversion projects that I had been reluctant to tackle until now. Highly recommended!
