Southern Towbars

I recently used Sothern Towbars to fit an Anderson Plug to my vehicle. I was very please with the service and advice I received from the team. Their workmanship was first class. Very neat. All done in a few hours. They also waited for me to collect my vehicle after 5pm. I would highly recommend Southern Towbars 10/10!

These blokes are Bloody Great! I had an electric brake wiring problem which was NOT their doing. They helped me out when they didn't have to. Fixed the problem, no worries. Highly Recommended! Thankyou

I rang for a Redarc product. Super friendly and helpful on the phone (the dad jokes were actually funny). Ordered in what I needed for next day delivery. I haven't even spent the money there yet but was treated at is if I already had.

We would highly recommend Southern Tow bars, Reece and his team went above and beyond in helping us with our tow bar and caravan hitch.We were on holidays and someone ran into our bumper bar and damaged both the tow bar and the heavy duty hitch and we were due to leave for home the next day towing our caravan . These guys not only had everything in stock and replaced our tow bar and hitch the next day, but also lent us a car for the day whilst ours was to be fixed and went through all the damage to the original gear to help us with insurance claims. I have 2018 VW Tiguan Allspace 132 TSI so I contacted all the Adelaide Tow-bar shops, installed them for a very good reasonable price, and made them very clean when they worked.

Excellent support and service. They fitted a tow bar and a supplied LED light bar to our Captiva. When we found damage to our D035 hitch on our caravan on our return home to the country, they offered to replace the hitch on site and within an hour of notification. Couldn’t ask for much better support than that.

We were very impressed witht quality of their work. The staff was freindly and helpful and prices were compeetive.

EDIT 2/5/21 - I have since been contacted by Southern Towbars about this review. They were very apologetic and assured me this was not their normal practice or and acceptable install for them. I was offered to have the towbar completely rewired, however I have already had it fixed elsewhere. Thank you for contacting me to discuss this issue, acknowledge that it was a problem and offer a solution.I had a towbar installed on my BT50 by Southern Towbars in August 2020. They were friendly and polite, however the quality of their install was poor and dangerous. After getting under the car for another reason recently I was shocked to find that they had run an unprotected and unfused wire directly from the battery positive with no conduit protecting it along the length of the chassis. The wire was fused at the towbar end meaning that if the wire was to short and rub through anywhere along the unfused length it could cause a fire. The wiring harness was also poorly secured with electrical tape at the towbar end. Based on my experience I would not recommend Southern Towbars.
