Super good sushi in Melbourne!! It's done at the right size (not the super fat sushi elsewhere), very fresh ingredients and tasty. I would say it's authentic and high standard! Keep it up Wa Sushi. You're my go to sushi place now yay!

Lovely little place. The 3 of us had a quite dinner there. The unagi roll is amazing, enjoyed by our 4yo. The sashimi was fresh, served not too cold which is good. It doesn't have the wow factor as what we had in Japan, but better than lots of Japanese restaurants" here. The chef (owner?) was friendly. It took a while for our food to be made but we knew everything was made freshly. Would definitely go again

EDIT: in hindsight it’s not terrible so I’ll give it a 4. In my mind it’s a 3.7 to be exact.Was excited to try out the sushi here but a little let down by the quality/presentation.The fish to rice ratio is a bit off. The fish barely covers the top of the rice and the rice was a little on the dry side. We were given heaps of the white fish which was not ideal!Perhaps the quality has dropped off over time. If you take a look at the pictures from 8months ago, the difference is noticeable!I’ve had better sushi at chains like maguro in the glen!Please work to keep up the quality, it’s easy to let it slide!

Simply exemplary. Don’t bother with ANYTHING else.I gave Wa Sushi a call at 5:15 on a Tuesday to order a platter with a hope-filled heart. I worried I’d left it a bit late and they may not be able to fulfil it, but the chef cheerfully invited me to collect my order at my requested time of 7pm.I ordered the large Salmonholic for myself and my partner, keen for a beautiful bite of nigiri as a little treat on a hot evening.We got there a little early to pick it up, but it appeared to be no problem. My platter was ready to go and looked absolutely mouthwatering. Everything was perfectly fresh and made with care.Now it does say that the platter serves 3-4. It probably does, but it suited us two just fine. We polished it off comfortably and nothing went to waste.Everything was absolutely perfect - cannot fault a single creation on this platter. It came with a generous serve of real wasabi (none of that sachet business) and wonderfully sharp, pickled ginger to enjoy between pieces. It also came with a good helping of Soy Sauce.This platter was very reasonably priced too, for the quality and quantity of selections.I’d give Wa Sushi a 10 if I were able. This restaurant has just scored two new customers for life to go with it!

Sushi gem in Boronia! Friendly service, high quality ingredients, expertly prepared and freshly made. Had the sashimi & nigri set, soft shell crab and unagi rolls. Delicious! Shame couldn't have the platters for eat in, but will be back to try the platters as takeaway.

So happy we found this place! It’s one of the best sushi places I’ve had in Melbourne. Fish incredibly fresh and cut to the perfect size. Rice in the nigiri was perfection. Have been coming back often and would highly recommend to anyone in the area. Owner is very friendly. He’s the one making the sushi, and has clearly perfected his craft.

Hands-down-- freshest, tastiest sushi I've had in Melbourne. I've ordered lunch and dinner from this place, and they never cease to impress. I am ticking through the menu to try everything they've got!
