Mount Talbot
Mount Talbot is named after the indigenous explorer Talbot, who travelled with Frank Hann through this region in the early 1900s (approximately 1903 or 1904).As for the location itself? Great scenery and views.Facilities: There is a small water tank up here but I would not recommend using it unless it was a genuine emergency. There is a fire area, BYO firewood. There is very little viable wood on the top of Mt Talbot so bring some from further down the hill. There are some improvised “chairs” made out of rocks. Better than nothing, but I’d recommend bringing your own seats if possible. There is a cairn where many people sign their names. Seems to be an informal “guest book” so bring some permanent paint or an engraving tool if you feel motivated to make your mark on the place. It goes without saying, but there are no toilets or rubbish bins up here, so try to be considerate to everyone and keep the place clean.
