Was truly disappointed today. As an old employee of the club the food is not what it use to be! Damper was so dry, my schnitzel was a yuck processed heart, the kids chicken was the same processed chicken, my husband and father in laws fisherman’s lunch had the smooshy “fresh” prawns scallops had a weird sauce on them! The only thing that was ok at our table was the steak sandwich!!Sorry guys but I was so excited to come for a visit today but I don’t think I will be back unfortunately.Need to bring back the simple and fresh food!

The location and the views were amazing. However, the food was disappointing and not worth what you’re paying for. The pasta was basic and there was not much flavour. The schnitzel seem like a supermarket schnitzel and so oily. For such an amazing location I’m sure you could find a chef who could do so much better. What I noticed is lack of interest to serve great food.

Just stopped in to meet friends. Only had one drink so can't comment on meals. Great atmosphere and service was good.

Went for birthday lunch and ordered two seafood platters for two. The oysters were tiny, scallops and fish over cooked, squid and prawns were not fresh. The food use to be great there years back. It’s a shame.

We had a lovely lunch here. Overall the food was good, but I don't recommend the Kilpatrick oysters, something about them didn't sit right. They had a good quality veggie burger for the vegetarian in our group, so we were happy there was that option on the menu. Overall we had a good experience, we would eat here again. Thanks!

Haven't been here for a while, but decided to have lunch with a couple of friends at the Surf Club.Service was efficient and prompt, prices on par with what to expect from places like this and the meals were of excellent quality. It definitely pays to book ahead even though it was a weekday , the place was still fairly busy.Would certainly come back again soon.Highly recommended.

I see there has been good reviews over the years, it must be I am ordering the wrong meals over the past 3 years. Today was Chicken Schnitzel. Not too sure where the stodgy, shiny, brownish, mash was created from but it was not lumpy. The chicken was the processed heart shaped thin meat crumbed. The small salad consisted of some rocket, bean shoots, grated carrot, fetta bits, a wedge of tomato with a dressing, overall it was tasteless. Chips served were similar to what you would expect from the bottom of the bag. Crisps and all short length chips, which I have never experienced. Staff were friendly altho no one asked if the meal was okay luckily. They may be aware it’s not that great. Seaside dining regardless of where in Australia always expects the view keeps the customers coming and this establishment is no different. Come take a look at the establishments view and have an Australian brew or two but eat elsewhere. Feb 2023 $25 plain Schnitzel. Members prices are minimally cheaper. Minimal pokies available. No linked machines.

It’s nothing like the standards it once had 10 yrs ago, the head chef back then with the culinary skills he brought to the surf club has vanished and now I'm upset about the standards it is now. The food prepared by him was top-notch restaurant food and the desserts were straightforward and delicious, aka the berry meringue smash. One fond memory we had some freshly caught yabbies by the chef that day, can’t beat that suggestion from the chef. They were amazingly cooked in butter and garlic and I've wanted to try them again ever since. In saying all that the Surf Club is only going to stay a memory for now.

Great service. We went on Tue night without a reservation and even though they were busy, nothing was a problem for them. Our food was great, every piece of seafood in Fisherman’s dinner was cooked absolutely perfectly.
