Light up Balgowlah

Seems knowledgeable & very helpful at first (they organized to get a fan they didn't have in the showroom so we could have a good look). We also asked if they could work on a lighting plan ($300 fee which we agreed to). Sent the plans and a few emails over the next couple of weeks to organize a meet up to pay fees/discuss plan and never heard back. Really disappointing, all talk and nothing to back it up unfortunately.

Worst customer experience: guy promised product to be ready on Monday. I come until the Friday and get told that the pendant is coming on Saturday. He says that he doesn't manages the transport (?). He then asks me what's the difference between Friday or Saturday. Once I finally get the pendant, it comes all terribly wrapped up. No instructions or anything whatsoever. Lightbulb not working. 100% the worst. No wonder why Amazon, eBay and others are eating up their market. Won't be surprised when they go bankrupt.

Nice little shop the name says it all the owner/gobble on the front, a super funny, right over conversation with unholy knowledgeable. I’ll just pop in for a conversation

We started off on this journey wanting to support a local business near our home in Manly. However, having experienced the level of service received, we will never use this business again, and would strongly advise others to do likewise. All just about ok until he has your money upfront, and then any semblance of responsibility to deliver what you've paid for, customer service and politeness disappears. A horrible experience.

Great service and knowledge from this store. We bought a ceiling fan/light a few months ago. Our installer was impressed with the quality and my wife returned alone to buy more. Staff again took the time to discuss room size and needs to ensure the best fans were bought. They also provided help carrying and putting items into her car. Fantastic courteous old style service. Will return again as we finish renovating our house.

As a local resident looking to support local business, I - like clearly many others - am extremely disappointed by the store’s refund policy. I returned an unopened brand new product within a week after I found out I unfortunately couldn’t install it. Instead of being offered a refund (which I would most likely have spent 10 times over as a happy returning customer) I will never buy from them again. Great initial customer service for the sale (on a product I could have bought slightly cheaper elsewhere) but terrible service thereafter. No wonder the larger chain stores make it difficult for local businesses to thrive, when they actually do their best to look after their customers and think about their future business potential and customer loyalty.

This family owned and operated lighting store has an impressive selection of indoor and outdoor lighting options so you really need to seek the advice of the friendly staff who really know the ons and outs of which light is right for where. We were given several good alternates to solve our lighting dilemma but as the range is so vast we may not have found them on our own. When you visit you can also meet the resident cockatoo Charlie who is nudging 13 years old now and comes and goes to the store every day to keep an eye on things

I hope that poor Cockatoo that is locked up in the cage (which has lost most of his feathers from stress) is no longer there. Won’t be shopping there again.

Had the worst experience at the store. Spent sometime browsing for pendants and when I asked the sales guy for the code and price of the product I liked he said - why? For you to shop around ?Well you will never see me again and hopefully anyone I know in this store ever again. The guy over the counter was unbelievably rude to me - I can’t even think about how bad I feltAnd if you try to find my records as a customer you will not find because I will never be one
