Metropolitan Autogas

Had an issue with my Diesel gas system. Went the first time as the filler wasn't filling. This was changed over with a minimum of fuss and I was advised the tank was out of date so that had to be fixed and re stamped of which they did and did well. The car came back and the gas system was not working. They traced this back to the Computer that drove the gas system advising there had been water in it however it looked fine to me. New computer went in $400 later and still not working so took the car back in again. They did another check and said the computer wasn't programed so off to the specialist that does diesel gas. They found the real problem which was the power to the computer was not there. So in essence there was nothing wrong with the computer in the first place it was just that it had no power going to it. This little exercise was a gross waste of my time and money due to them not being able to diagnose the issue from the start. My advise to potential customers is if they cant work it out on the first go take it elsewhere or you will be back 5 to 6 times like i did and it still wont be fixed.Thanks for your reply below however this is not correct. The whole process took over a year. The computer in the car had nothing wrong with it as it was the power supply that was the issue. When I went to the other company they didn't have to load any software into the computer as it was already preloaded from the manufacturer. They quickly found the fault was the power supply which had corroded at the joint. If this fault was found originally this would have saved me a substantial amount of money and time.

I used to take my car to Scott and Tanith and never had a problem, great service and the car ran well. I moved away for awhile and getting there for a service was difficult, so I took it to a different mechanic. After that, the car never ran very well, to the point I started thinking I needed to retire the old girl; so I started looking into a new vehicle. I decided to take it back to Scott one last time and it is now running the best it has years! Can't thank them enough!

Wow, Metropolitan gas did and absolute awesome job on my cranky 1950 Chev. Now starts like a dream, uses less fuel and has more power. Highly recommend these guys for LPG dedicated vehicles like mine.

Wealth of knowledge and not just with LPG vehicles would 100% go back very very happy with the work they have done on my 80 series

We had our LPG Falcon in for a 10 yearly cylinder test and also needed a stepper motor replaced, the car now runs like a dream again. Thanks for the great work!

I was being driven mad by a weird braking noise behind the dash in my Pajero.Turned out to be the ABS controller and it was replaced by Scott after a thorough examination.Timely and a fair price.

I booked my car in with Metropolitan Autogas to be quoted for repairs required on a Ford Falcon. I dropped and the car off and within 20 minutes they called to tell me that it would cost $1990 to fix the issue. I told them not to worry about it as it was not worth spending that amount of money on the car and that I would come back to collect it that day.When I arrived they told me that I had to pay $125 for them to provide the quote. I questioned this because at no point did they mention that there would a charge to provide a quote. I refused to pay it and they said that they would not give my car back until it was paid. Scott, Michael and Tabitha were very rude to me so I decided to leave to assess my options.I called them later that afternoon to discuss the dispute and Tabitha answered. After a very short time she started yelling and then hung up on me. I then researched my options wrote them a letter detailing why what they were doing was unreasonable.In the end after two weeks of no progress I decided it would be easier to just pay the $125. Dispite feeling though I have taken advantage of and ripped off. Unfortunately it wasn't worth spending money pursuing the matter further, I wish I could have. I was surprised when writing this review to see that they had many positive Google Reviews, but as you can probably tell there was nothing positive at all with my experience. Obviously I will never be using them again and would recommend that you stay away.

My new mechanic!!!!! I learnt more about my first converted car in half an hour than I've learned in the year I've owned the car.....Was at all times keep informed of what needed doing - with explanations why that a layman could understand and how much it was going to cost me.First mechanic ive been to in years that actually checked all the fluids in the car as part of the service - old school rocks -They also went above and beyond and went over the whole car and gave me a list of things that needed doing from most urgent to get to.Car is running like a dream so much smoother than its ever been.Can't praise these guys high enough!!!!!!!!!!Thanks againKerrie

Went there for getting the safety certificate for my car. Got an appointment for the same day and got the certificate within half an hour. Service was good and fast.

100% trust these guys they not only worked on my Prado for a good price but rushed the job through so we can use the car over the holidays. Also were happy to explain the good and not so good parts of the car. Down to earth Aussies these guys are my new mechanics for sure.
