Super cute A-frame chalet with a great view. Excellent organisation and communication from the owners too. Would definitely book again when we come back.

Nice enough place to stay, could do with a little refresh and visitors need to be aware it is a 20 minutes walk from the main tourist attractions and town centre. Good views from the rooms!

My husband and I spent a night here this past weekend for our first wedding anniversary. Overall it was a great place to stay. We stayed in the loft above reception. The room was very spacious and tidy, the shower & spa were great and the bed was comfy. We had decided to cook our own meal for tea rather than go out, however discovered the bbq on our little private balcony was out of gas. This was no worries at all - a quick phone call to staff and in no time there was a very friendly and polite gentleman knocking on our door with a new gas bottle. We had no other interactions with any staff whilst there and didn’t order breakfast for the morning (although only because we forgot to by the 9pm cut off) so I can’t comment on either of those things. If I was going to make any recommendations it would be to better maintain the property - there seemed to be a lot of junk and rubbish laying around and floating in the little pond. And at least one more glass in the room is definitely needed! We were mixing our own drinks for the evening and had to take turns using the one appropriate glass provided.

We booked The Loft' for one night as part of a tour around Tasmania. First impressions were not great. The steps to The Loft passed an area which was littered with piles of detritus

After reading past reviews we expected something better than what we had. We had a ground floor suite at the end of the complex and paid around $160/night.Pros: Well located. Reasonably clean. Fridge. Good bed and TV/DVD player. Plenty of hot water. Snacky breakfast stuff.Cons: Bathroom mouldy. Shower head needed replacing. Toilet suite wobbly pulling off wall. No air-conditioning. Two electric heaters in cluttered rooms were a worry.Summary: Strahan is an out of the way Tassie West Coast Wilderness village and so expect overpriced services taking advantage of the monopolistic food and accommodation situation that exists there. Locals are friendly enough and the town is exposed to wild weather and is ruggedly beautiful. It also has an amazing history. We were lucky as we had a couple of days of great weather and walked everywhere. The town felt safe and welcoming. Well worth visiting. The Wilderness Cruise was fantastic!

Great location and surroundings, but, unfortunately, very unkempt. It looked like it was nice some 5-6 years ago, but not anymore. At the reception (which was in a total mess) we found a dead mouse. The water in the ponds was dirty. The air in the room was stale, the bathroom had mould depositions and the WC seat was unsteady.
