Ryan offered a range of solutions to my faulty OEM head unit which was no longer in production and I was having a hard time getting a solid solution elsewhere. Ended up deciding on an aftermarket unit and could not be happier with the product and excellent, fast installation. Highly recommend.

I have the model Subaru XV that came out just before Subaru introduced head units with Apple Car Play.I had tried to see if I could have my car upgraded to Apple Car Play but was told it wasn’t an option.The existing unit was very fiddly to operate and the hands free phone option was of poor quality with people complaining they couldn’t hear me and frequent problems connecting.I also had problems with the radio in terms of accessing radio stations which I had mentioned at previous car services but was never fixed to my satisfaction.After doing some research on 3rd party head units I had the good fortune to call into Driven Sound Vision Technology in Launceston and speak with Rye.I was concerned on how a 3rd party unit would integrate into my car including if it would operate with the steering wheel controls.Rye demonstrated an Alpine unit and assured me that he could install it with full integration. At the same time I asked about front and rear dash cams and he recommended a ThinkWare front and rear combination.I purchased Rye’s recommendations and left the car with him for an afternoon for installation.To say I am very happy with these products and the installation quality is an understatement. These are some of the reasons why:1. Rye advised getting a unit that connects wirelessly to my and my wife’s phones rather than plugging in via a cable (which is the more common unit including many of the ones installed by the factory). I’ve found this works perfectly without the hassle of fiddling with cables and the phone.2. I won’t detail the joys of Apple Car Play as you can look this up online but suffice to say it is fantastic to have everything on my phone accessible on the head unit on the lovely big colour touch screen. This includes maps, phone contacts, messages, calendar etc. All under perfect voice control via Siri.3. Rye installed a noice cancelling microphone as part of the kit and it has dramatically improved both the phone quality and solved all the connection issues.4. I Have never used dash cams before and I was a bit concerned if they would be overly complex to operate but these particular units come with an excellent iPhone app that makes them simple to use and easy to access the recorded videos. There are a number of features that Rye recommended which is why I purchased these units and I’m already appreciating having these units with these features.5. The quality of the installation and integration into the car is excellent and done by someone who takes pride in their work and has the technical skills to do the job properly.6. Rye was great to deal With, not only in the purchasing stage, but just as importantly with the after sales service. I had a couple of minor issues that Rye dealt with immediately and at all all times he has been very professional, helpful and friendly.I don’t often write reviews, especially reviews that are this long.However when you are trying to solve a problem with your purchases and everything works out even better than you hoped for, it is a rare occurrence for me.If you are in the market for Car Sound and Vision products I suggest you give Rye a call.

Had a new Head Unit and Reverse Camera put in, more than happy with the service, the work performed was to a high quality, great care was taken and everything was very neatly done! Had everything explained to me and was shown my way around the new system. Was also more than happy to answer any questions I had afterwards, it never felt like an obligation!!

They are patient, professional and not only know their stuff, but are happy to share their knowledge with enthusiasm. The install in my Subaru BRZ is flawless, beautifully integrated and better than anything I have experienced before. I quite enjoy installing audio myself, but it was clear to me that Rye and Matt are in a different league. They take absolute pride in their work, and I would recommend their service to anyone in Tasmania.
