Crafty is a small locally inspired, true blue, Australian fine whisky distillery. Owner-operator Craig is highly knowledgeable and a perfect host to this visiting Canadian: so grateful for an early morning tasting and a few bottles of this splendid malt whisky ... thanks Craig!

It’s always a pleasure to visit a Craft Works. Not only do you get to sample some amazing craft whisky but more then likely you get to chat to the man the legend “Crafty” himself. His whisky is totally amazing and well worth the visit. Been back 4 times now and it never disappoints

My regular trip up to Mudgee each year is never complete without the obligatory stop at Craft Works Distillery at Capertee. I’ve witnessed Craig “Crafty” Field’s journey, from humble beginnings, to taking his rightful place amongst the burgeoning Australian whisky scene as one of its most colourful and inspiring characters.As for the whisky, I’ve had the pleasure of sampling many of his releases over the years, and each is as diverse and unique as the master himself.Highlights for me include the Blak Soul Beast, I am, and I am too.I look forward to more releases each year, and sharing in the story of Craft Works Distillery.

Crafty is the nicest and most respected whisky personalities in Australia. You won't find anyone so passionate about his CRAFT! If you are driving through Capertee, you MUST pop in and say g'day! During my visit, we shared a dram or two and Crafty shared some of his insights into the craft of making single malt whisky.

We had a great morning at Craft Works distillery. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Crafty is so knowledgeable and passionate about Australian whiskey and craft distilling. His whiskey is a credit to him and true example of fine Australian spirits. Highly recommend a visit

Absolutely brilliant find! I came to visit after tasting their delicious whisky at my local whisky bar and I was extremely glad I did! Crafty and his team are extremely talented, their whisky is delicious, and they are a friendly bunch of blokes. A MUST visit if you are in the area.

I Am so glad I got a chance to meet and visit Crafty at Capertee. He is passionate, incredibly generous with his time and he makes some pretty incredible whisky, ODV & vodka too. If you are ever in the area, do yourselves a favour and drop in. Better yet, attend one of his “Epic in the Valley” events at Dalli’s campground.

Craft Works Distillery
We visited Craft Works Distillery with the Mountains Whisky Club on our Wild West Whisky Tour and had a blast with Crafty. He’s very informative and engaging on the subject of whisky and he ran us through several tastings of new and current batches he has on offer. Selling out of his shed behind the Capertee pub, it’s a must if heading out west and if you love single malt whisky even more so. We’ll be back Crafty it was one of our highlights!
