Six Foot Track

I've been here twice and I've loved it both times. Really diverse walk - so you get to see a range of different landscapes and geographical features like rivers and bridges. The walk is quite long and depending on how you are feeling you can do a single section of the track for a day hike.

Wonderful offtrack experience from Sixfoot path to a invisible offtrack entry all the way up to Bottleneck pass. All the way view is awesome 100% oxygen breath in to bring urself into the wild nature!

Great challenging multiday hike. Need to ensure you carry lots of water as it's no easy walk. Plenty of creeks etc to get water along the way. The tanks at the campgrounds could be empty.Need to be prepared, as there are limited access spots if you get injured or can't proceed any more. Steep incline after Cox river campground, need a good level of fitness or just take it easy.

A really beautiful and gorgeous track to hike. We only did the first part of the hike to Cox's camping ground near the Eco Lodge and back to Katoomba. Well marked track.

No toilets but a quiet spot

To be honest and fair, I walked in from the highway down to the 6 Foot Track, hiking a few kilometres on a flat and even surface which was very comfortable. I then took a sidewalk back through Devil's Hole.It looks to be a great start to the whole trail to Jenolan Caves, and on first impressions certainly it's worthy of the status afforded it.

It’s a decent walk with clear path to follow. Around 16km round trip up to the Bowtells Bridge. There’s about 5mins walk down the driveway and you will see the sign pointing to your right saying “six foot track” . You cross the bridge and follow the path. Very nice countryside views and when you see the first light green mental stepper on your right, you meant to cross it.From there, you can continue your path easily. Recommend hiking shoes as the ground is covered by sand and small rocks, may get slippery when downhills. It is easier to walk towards there as most are downhill. When you are on your way back, there are quite a lot of steps. Make sure you save enough water on your way back. You can find a perfect place near the water to have a rest.The bridge is quite swinging when it is windy. You might feel a bit dizzy afterwards.It’s a wonderful experience to share with friends and family (if kids are highly active). Enjoy your time there. You might want to bring your swimming suit but nowhere to take a shower afterwards.

Killer descent but Nellis Glen is a beautiful place. You can do part of this track then take a turn to devils hole track and end up on Cliff drive but keep in mind it will be another horrible climb over boulders and fallen trees. Experienced and well prepared walkers only please !

Fantastic track for hiking. Can be done in 1-2-3 days, depends on your pace. Nice camping spots along the way, well maintained tracks, quite quiet in the off seasons if you're after tranquillity.Do not underestimate the degree of elevation change you'll go through. Sore legs will be had if you're unprepared.

Experience and fitness required. Long distances between campgrounds. Be prepared with water treatment tablets etc
