It's a good dancing event space. Sound system is decent lighting is above average. More times than not it draws a younger (early 20s) commercial music crowd.

I used to come here a lot when I was 18 - 21, came again recently at age 27 and it's good to see that this venue is in good hands.Staff are efficient, friendly and service never takes too long.The venue is also really clean as they have staff roaming around picking up empty glasses, etc.Definitely coming back soon!

Attended Bourke St Courtyard for a gig last weekend and it has the worst sound of any venue that I have ever attended. The room is all hard surfaces with no sound treatment and the result is awful, unclear, muddy sound. The vocals and instruments were incomprehensible and there was a distinct lack of low bass as well. The space has obviously been designed by a marketing team, with no thought as to the artists performing there.Do not go here!

Overpriced drinks and stifling hot inside. Sound system is average, more distortion than actual bass. Disappointing as so much potential in the actual venue

I go to music events a lot and went to see Camo & Krooked last weekend. I've read reviews complaining about a bad sound system. This venue has mirrors in the back- this is not ideal as the windows reverberate the sound- so if you're close to those windows then yes the sound is bad. But the sound system itself is perfectly fine. I had a great time, I went by myself and left having made new friends. Finally, after going to drum and bass events by myself for 6 years, I don't have to go alone anymore. Five stars!

This is the Royal Melbourne Hotel.Not enough ventilation, two tiny fans for the whole venue. Sound system was horrible.International protomers should avoid.

Solid venue if it weren't always overbooked. Seems like they sell unlimited tickets for their events. Expensive drinks too. However the dual stage makes it convenient to bounce between different types of music. The second stage is smaller yet usually has fewer people and more room.

They charged me $10 for a glass of soda water. Never buy drinks from here it is honestly the biggest rip off ever.
