National Storage Hume, Canberra

Noting Luke Hemmings review of the deplorable customer service standards of a few years ago. Ditto here. It appears nothing has changed at all. Referencing the Parcelpoint side of the business my experience has been as follows.1. Access is almost always locked despite an 'Open' sign. Call ph number on door and told be with you shortly. 10 minutes later access finally given.2. They lose your parcels. Check parcels as received when they haven't. Couldn't fix on site so had to spend 45 minutes with affiliates fixing. Not check parcels received when they have been. It's pure chaos.3. Wouldn't except a NSW Gov Firearms licence (identical to drivers though green and different text) as identification.4. Manager wouldn't deliver parcels to wife as my agent despite having the perfect identification forms according to Amazon AU. Called to clarify on wife's behalf and was told she was rude and then he promptly hung up on me! This from the manager!?5. Since been banned from Parcelpoint collections at this location based on our being 'rude'. (You've got this all on camera - post it if you like - I bet not).Where do I sign not using this so called 'service'? They couldn't pay me to go anywhere near this exceedingly poorly run establishment. I trust other National Storage locations have staff who are actually trained to deliver a friendly, efficient and welcoming experience. I hope for their businesses sake. Parcel delivery is not rocket science. Though if you want a taste of Fawlty Towers cameo please go ahead.

I cannot understand why there are no lights inside the facility.Its actually dangerous. Maybe the plan is for someone to hurt themselves and Sue them before they bother putting some in. Apart from that it's a tidy facility

Choosing this company was a huge mistake.Navigating their website was the first of the issues, but nowhere near as big an issue as them leaving us stranded with a loaded trailer and nowhere to put the stuff.The website kept erasing our birthday when we hit submit, and then said “birthday can’t be blank” - it wasn’t blank.Multiple times enter birthday and get told it can’t be blank after we hit submit.Apparently you have to enter the birthdate BACKWARD with year first!!! It would be nice to be told that..At one point you come to an ”agree/disagree (monthly fee applies)” point, but it doesn’t says whether that fee applies if you agree, or if it applies if you disagree, and no mention of how much the fee is.They mention that everything is now ‘no contact needed’ due to Covid-19 and they happily take your booking for the next day, but when you get there mid afternoon with your loaded trailer, you can’t use any of the entry codes or details they sent you. When you ring their helpline it turns out that on your first visit “there has to be someone there“ and they don’t man the place on a public holiday.Nowhere was THAT mentioned in any of the documentation they sent boasting about how everything is “contact free” due to Covid-19.We are stuck with nowhere to put a loaded trailer and can’t even cancel our booking and go somewhere with decent service, because their helpline insists that cancellations have to be done when someone is in the office - funny that it can be BOOKED without someone there.I can’t rate this company low enough - they done even deserve a 1 star.

Staff extremely understanding and flexible when we needed to extend at the last minute due to not being able to vacate on our nominated date. Site and unit clean and easily accessible, friendly helpful staff. Will use again should we have the need for storage..

Rudest man I’ve ever dealt with on Friday 29th March at approx 4pm. He yelled at me even though I proved who I was with multiple forms of id when trying to pick up some packages using the parcelpoint. As a female on my own in that office I felt very intimidated and concerned for my safety. I hope action is taken quickly to remove this dangerous man. I have put in a formal complaint to your website and look forward to being contacted with some answers of this deplorable behaviour.

new secretary very nice lady good customer service, manager and onsite caretaker absolutely shocking customer service. may be a case of too comfortable in position attitude of entitlement? Or just void of customer service skills, who knows? but not good. Cheaper than most storage places in Canberra but not worth the bad service wont be using them again.

Do not use this company if you care about your vehicle.Stored my ute there for just over 4 weeks in a carport, thinking it would be out of harm's way. Little did I know, when I came to take it for a wash and drive to find the ute damaged.Reported it immediately, another 3-4weeks later of calling this person

Center is under new Management and the new staff members are very kind and have fantastic customer service.

It is with great disappointment that I write this review with regards to the level of service and care provided by the team at National Storage Hume. I have been a client of National Storage, in particular the Hume location for almost 4 years now and during this time I could not fault the level of service that was once provided by Jordan Brandt (Manager), Jordan always went out of his way to assist me both during business hours and after hours and nothing was ever an effort for him. If there was something I needed done, he had already done it before I could ask if it was done. He managed National Storage Hume to perfection and done it with a meticulous skill set which unfortunately has now seen the establishment sincerely deteriorate since his recent departure, the staff at Hume now are rude, abrupt and unfriendly. Everything seems to be an effort for them and they all lack customer service skills which is disappointing as this business was once a well oiled operation under the helm and guidance of former manager Jordan. I hope that things are improved in the near distant future and head office intervenes and appropriately trains the current staff on customer relation skills. This is the main reason why I terminated my agreement with this business. If Jordan was still at the helm, I would have remained a client. It's so disappointing to see how things fall to pieces when a highly skilled and charismatic leader of a company moves on.
