Bakery & Cafe – Banjo’s Glendale

Banjos is my new favourite bakery when in Adelaide, and now I know they exist in Glendale too!!Banjos danishes are by far the most delicious danishes ever made. They are fresh, have an excellent fruit to pastry ratio and the pastry is cooked to perfection.Do yourself a favour and go grab a delicious danish, before I buy them all :)

We were served to collect our catering order, were asked to wait and it will be brought out shortly. 10 minutes later we asked what's going on and found out it was ready all along they neglected to bring it out. After watching them during this wait, witnessed a very unorganised store. Total lack of leadership. Some staff flat out, others doing nothing. Never saw anyone smile the whole time we were there.

This is one of my favourite bakeries, I go here often, the food is delicious. I begged my husband to take me here yesterday and I've never been so disappointed. Your staff were flustered, they needed help and looked at times like they were going to snap at one another. The girl who served me was doing her best but seemed new, I had a lot of patience and hope she gains confidence. I was served, after waiting for a long time and I told my husband it was worth our wait. I paid and waited. I saw the staff talking for 5 minutes, they put up a sign that said what I ordered was out of stock and THEN came over to tell me I had to be refunded my whole order, why did I wait and get told after they had time to make a sign and argue about it? Anyway they explained I had to be refunded in whole as they can't refund a singular item and purchase again what was in stock to feed the kids. I paid a second time for my food and coffees. I stood at the same spot and after a short while my coffees were handed to me, everyone confused on why I was still there asked what I wanted, I had to tell them I still hadn't been given the 3 pies I paid for not once, but twice at this point.I finally received my food and was able to leave very disappointed in what is my favourite cafe. I recommend to everyone usually but am now slightly wary after the ordeal that unfolded.

I had a beef and cheese pie, and a beef and bacon pie. Both were pretty good - nice, crispy pastry and decent filling with plenty of actual chunks of meat. I think they could have been a bit hotter though.The shop itself was clean, with plenty of seating. They also have some single-seat lounge chairs for more laid-back dining (or coffee drinking.)

Taste of the food was fine but service was wanting badly. Pastries for two people were handed over on 2 stacked plates rather than 2 separate ones. We had a 25min wait for our drinks and when we finally went to inquire about them were given just a 'sorry'. Should have offered a refund or halved the price or offered some sort of recompense. Finally, we had to ask for a tray to carry our 3 drinks rather than be offered one.
