Claremont Hotel

Horrible experience, waited an hour for food to arrive and the they stuffed up by delivering 2 meals to our table that were meant for another table but didn't tell us till asked 10mins later where the rest were. My meal had a gravey that tasted like vinegar and was disgusting, my husbands was disgusting also in taste and my mother's battered fish had raw batter that tasted like flour. Will never be back!

usually pretty good but was disappointed this time. service was slow, steak nearly raw (asked for medium) and inedible had to ask for dessert several times. renovations are nice though

Partner order a small serve parmigiana as he had one last time we went there and was a decent size. This time they literally cut his parmi in half with the smallest amount of chips. We seen a kids meal go past that was bigger. My steak was like it was slow cooked and extremely over cooked! Last time it was blue This time over well done. Not that hard to do medium to rare..

We had a birthday lunch last week at the Mont. Second time there and honestly found the meals and service were fantastic. No booking required and served promptly . My steak was done just as I liked. Can highly recommend. We had desserts. ' Couldn't fit in another thing ' . thanks.

Nice pub style meals and orders are taken from your table. We were there for a birthday party and they stored our cake until we were ready for it then brought it to the table with the candles on it. They also brought plates and spoons as well as a large cake cutting knife. Felt very welcome and catered for. Definitely go there.

Attended a birthday there.Service was first class.Food was, for a hotel restaurant, surprisingly good.The new dining room is comfortable and well laid out.All in all a pleasant experience.Will go again.

The restaurant was great for dinner, and the food was delicious. The new atmosphere was also comfortable and had an amazing area for the kids to play inside! However, one of the waitresses was rude and rushed us to finish our meals because she complained she needed to go home to her children. Fair enough, but there was no need for any of it.

Stopped in on my way through for a quick bite with family on a Tuesday around lunchtime. I must say the food and service in particular was absolutely excellent, genuinely the only way I can describe it. The sports bar, lounge and bistro all have a very relaxed atmosphere, and plenty of room. Shared a few small meals for lunch, and the garlic pizza, chips, onion rings and soup of the day were all perfect. In particular the hotel manager, I think his name was Tom, went above and beyond with his customer service. He's the definition of the right person in the right job. The lounge is also getting a renovation so I'm sure that will only improve the current setting. This is definitely a stop I'll be making again in the future if I'm down in Tasmania again.

Food is amazing if you are lucky enough to receive it.Been twice over the past few weeks and both times our pizzas we ordered to share as starters did not arrive until after mains were finished. I can understand mistakes happen but two visits in a row is no longer an accident.Hopefully they can work through their timing issues as they would have received 5 stars if not for this.

Recently went and ordered ribs, they were inedible - all bone, no meat, and very over cooked.Giving 3 stars as our previous experiences at The Claremont have been good. Hoping our next visit isn’t our last!
