JMC Academy - Grey St Campus

Amazing staff, fantastic atmosphere. If you a thinking about film and television, animation, music, games design. This is the place to be. Having spent the last 3 months here I can confidently say that it has been a real lesson into how the industries work, how to create the things I have dreamt about creating. It's now becoming a reality.Brisbane classes are fun, educational and the lecturers are of exceptional quality both in attitude and skills. The facilities are great there is plenty of room and access to computers, software, hardware all that you need to be successfully creating your projects and assessments with plenty of mentor access and support networks.

Studied Animation and game design, does a good job of taking you from almost knowing nothing to an intermediate level where you'd be ready to apply for internships, I don't recommend for anyone who has studied animation before and already has understanding of the subject as there would be a lot of waiting before classes become challenging.

I am a previous business student who has just decided to go to university again, this time with a public university as JMC gave me a degree but no real business skills. I am shocked at how different the criteria is for both universities. I am unsure if this has improved however my time at JMC now seems like a waste due to the extremely low standards they had for assessments compared to other universities. They lacked resources and care. I now feel scammed into a large amount of HECS debt. Go to a public university if you can.

Absolute best University I've been to so far. Teachers are fun and helpful with assessments having a lot of creative freedom. Feel like I'm learning more in a single trimester here than I did at an entire year at QUT and half a year at Griffith combined.

Have been to 2 open days and always had fun and learnt heaps. My daughter is looking forward to going here when she graduates High School to do Games and Animation studies.

As a mature age student who has been very scared of following what I truly want to do out of fear of my conservative parents who would say ‘you’ll never get a job out of the creative industry’, you can expect that I would be nervous when I walked into the building, port folio in hand ready to enroll. I was beyond nervous and while I had a feeling I was going to enroll on Open Day, I still felt I needed a bit more convincing. I went through the halls and walked into a room full of current students and lecturers majoring in 2D animation; what I was interested in studying. While I was visibly nervous, I was welcomed with open arms. As a high school student, I was always outcasted and bullied because I was eccentric and nobody understood me. Mum would say to me regularly ‘When you get into University, you will find the people who you click with and who share your interests.’ But after a few years at Griffith University, I was still a loner. But the people I met on Open day not only were amazing people who shared so much in common with me, but they eased up any and all fears I had in embarking on this journey.Now, I am officially starting in late September studying what I’ve wanted to for such a long time! I haven’t started yet, but I know this is the best decision I’ve made in my life.

I studied game development at JMC in Brisbane. The lecturers were knowledgeable and very supportive, all of them happy to assist out of class time. The head of department is passionate about the industry and also goes out of his way to help students. I enjoyed learning there and got a lot out of the course. Class sizes were small in comparison to larger universities so lots of attention from lecturers and easy to make friends with other students.

JMC academy is my dream school. The atmosphere is so amazing and contains so much room for growth and collaboration. Can’t wait to attend in 2024

Great facilities, really great lecturers, from my experience the music program at JMC is well worth the time and money - I've really enjoyed studying here the past 2 years with so many talented students, alumni and lecturers. It's really equipped me for my future in music and I feel confident in pursuing my goals in the industry !! My one note: focus, work hard, pick subjects you're passionate about! Otherwise your time here might not be as impactful as mine has been.

Absolutely would recommend. The open day was so inviting, they have a great cafe with live performance and everyone I met was super nice and ready to ask me if i needed anything. great vibe as well, really chill even though it was busy and everyone said hello when I walked past.
