Mike is multi-instrumentalist, an excellent musician and an extraordinary teacher. Watching Mike teach my 12 year old son on percussion and the drum kit was an absolute pleasure. Mike's knowledge, patience and gentle nature helped propel my sons grasp of the essential rudiments and he quickly progressed to playing complicated arrangements well above his age group. As a family we have also enjoyed watching Mike play live gigs with his band The Awakenings Ensemble, such incredible musicians and a must see gig.

Mike came and worked with Dulwich College (Singapore) as part of the Diversity! Programme 2017, running workshops and performances with a Jazz Combo - a great experience for our students and staff alike. A real highlight for the college to have some 450 students sing Basin Street Blues along side a professional Jazz Combo, lead by Mike. Great to work with in everyday and would very much recommend. Our first experience with Mike was as our daughter's Jazz Piano teacher. We were surprised as at how quickly she was able to progress and that Mike was able to get her to take risks with music that was outside her comfort zone.I have seen Mike play, record and teach numerous times and I am consistently impressed with his professionalism and his style of communication. 100% recommend
