Pondok Nasi Bakar
My Indonesian friends recommended this place, and boy, their food is authentic and full of flavours. It was so filling I ended up taking some of the food homes. This place is pram friendly and has plenty of parking at the front. We came for lunch, and it was starting to get busy on a Sunday. It shows it’s a popular place to eat.The price range is affordable, and the staff and the restaurant are clean. It has a baby change table for those who needs to change their baby or toddler. They also have a snack selection for takeaway too.I am definitely coming back!!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Pondok Nasi Bakar, and their pempek left me speechless! From the moment I walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere made me feel right at home. The pempek selection was impressive, with each fishcake bursting with incredible flavors and textures. The vinegar sauce that accompanied it was the perfect tangy complement. Alongside their authentic Indonesian dishes like nasi bakar and grilled seafood, Pondok Nasi Bakar truly impressed me. The attentive service and cozy ambiance sealed the deal. The food was very good, the atmosphere a little dull, no decorations, cheap seats and tables, but the service was good. All in all 3 stars!

Pondok Nasi Bakar
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Pondok Nasi Bakar and I must say, it was an incredible experience! The ambiance of the restaurant is very warm and inviting, and the staff were friendly and attentive.The highlight of my meal was definitely the iga bakar and pempek. The iga bakar was cooked to perfection - tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. The pempek was also delicious - crispy on the outside, but soft and chewy on the inside.But the food wasn't the only thing that impressed me. The portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable, making it an excellent value for money. I also appreciated the attention to detail in the presentation of the food - it was evident that a lot of care had gone into every dish.Overall, I highly recommend Pondok Nasi Bakar to anyone looking for a delicious, affordable meal in a welcoming atmosphere. I can't wait to go back and try more of their menu!

Pondok Nasi Bakar
This food here is great. We ordered the Bebek Penyet (Duck), Penyet Komplit, Fried Chicken (Ayam Kremes) and the Grilled Fish (Tilapia). I give all of them 11/10 - they were all so flavourful and tender. Though I was getting full, I found myself still wanting more because the flavours were so good. We also ordered Nasi Bakar (grilled rice), which was so fragrant and tasty. I highly recommend getting this rice rather than steam rice. For drinks, we got the Indonesian black coffee. If you like sweet coffees, you would enjoy this. Our tummies are full and happy. Staff were polite and the restaurant was spacious and comfortable.

Pondok Nasi Bakar
What a find! First time visiting Geelong and whilst exploring the city - discovered this gem of a place. Large and bright, the food is exceptional and the fiery spice and heat was perfect to warm us up on a cold winter’s day. The food is nicely presented and generous in portion - their rice in banana leaf with anchovies (Nasi bakar) was the perfect accompaniment to their spicy chicken. Service is friendly and if your are unfamiliar with Indonesian food - they’ll explain it all to you. And pricing is reasonable - judging from the other patrons (lots of Indonesians), this is a regular hangout for good Indonesian food.

Pondok Nasi Bakar
This restaurant is rapidly becoming one of my favorite G-long haunts. The flavours are authentic and bursting with fragrance. Inside the atmosphere is calm, largely thanks to the well distanced tables and appropriate lighting. Orders are annoyingly completed via a QR code system, but I'm not going to remove a star for that...it seems unfair especially when the food was delivered with a smile as warm as my steamed rice. Ayam penyet was top quality; I look forward to trying a fish dish next time. Oh, and I would reccomend ordering the signature rice *with* anchovies- delish!

Pondok Nasi Bakar
One of my favourite Indonesian food places in the Melbourne/Geelong area - the food is really flavourful and authentic. My personal favourites are the Iga Bakar + Nasi Bakar & Sayur Asem. The extra benefit of having more space in the main Geelong store means you are more likely for them to have seats for you. Would recommend for anyone who likes sweet & savoury food - also spicy for those bold enough to try!

Glad that we chanced upon this Indonesian restaurant during our day trip to Geelong. Amazing authentic food and pretty efficient service. I'm particularly impressed by their sambal chili. It was worth it venturing a little further away from the city center and waterfront!
