Tharwa Valley Forge

We did the One Day knife making course and thoroughly enjoyed it. Tim, our instructor was so very skilled, patient and helpful, providing excellent advice and tips ensuring we all managed to finish our knives successfully by the end of the course. A mate and I did the day with our sons and we all had a great time, and all made razor sharp and unique custom knives of our choice, based on the pre cut blanks and handles available. Yes it costs a bit, but in my opinion it’s worth every cent and I want to go back and do other courses with TVF. Karim helped me sort a custom group booking in advance too. All in all a fantastic experience and well worth a go ;-D

The team at Tharwa Valley Forge are absolute legends. Recently went down there for Japanese Knife Making and had an absolute blast. The passion and care they have for teaching and the quality of the finished product is really great. Big shouts to Karim, Leila and Matt for such a great weekend

Completed a Japanese knife making course at Tharwa Valley Forge after being gifted it as a present.I had a marvellous time.The trainer was amazing in her instruction, attention to detail, abilities and setting a fun and well paced course.I think the course is what you make of it, literally, but the knives I left with are awesome and I would have some confidence to take on making a forged knife with limited input having completed the course.That said there is still a lot to learnThe owner is a champion and the facilities are perfect and the setting is greatWould do it again and would recommend to a friend

I did the 5 day knife making course, it was outstanding! The teachers are amazing at sharing their knowledge and communicating. A special shout out to Russell and Barry, they are very talented knife makers but they even better teachers, which is saying a lot. If you're wondering if you should do a course? You must!

Fantastic course, a little bit of therory and a lot of hard work. Led by Instructor Charlie who provided excellent break down of the steps involved and why with demonstrations that made it look easy.
