It was such a pleasure staying in ward 53 for the birth of my first (and probably only) baby. The nurses/midwives were almost exclusively AMAZING - with so many patients, I have no idea how they are able to offer such great care to everyone all at once, patiently teach new mum's how to breast feed or use a pump, etc etc.The food was great overall - wayyy better than one might expect when they think of hospital food".The cleaning staff are sweet and great at their job.Plus the view from my room was INCREDIBLE.Thanks so much to everyone who helped take care of me during my stay."

Great location, but horrible set up. Ugliest McDonald's I've ever been in. Didn't eat in as it looks scary!! Had my grandchildren with me, and the place looked like a prison eating area!!! Not joking !! all grey, no colour or fun things to see, no plants..no effort to make the place look welcoming!! Order then leave.

My week-long stay in Ward 71 at SJOG Subiaco was a wonderful experience, almost beyond belief for a hospital, and made recovering from a broken bone in my pelvis so much more pleasant as I wasn't in a rush to go home. All the nursing staff (too many to name) looking after me were just fantastic - happy, smiling, pleasant, knowledgeable and couldn't do enough for me, even when I was calling for painkillers, water or an extra blanket at 2 or 3am. The level of care and professionalism, not to mention compassion, was outstanding! After being admitted to a shared room for the first night, I was moved to a private room as soon as one became available, at a staff member's suggestion. That made my stay even more enjoyable as I had not only more privacy and my own ensuite, but a view north across the rooftops to Lake Monger in the distance. My room was spotless, well equipped with a very comfortable bed with electric head and foot end lift which was fantastic as I could not sit up unassisted for the first five days of my stay. One of the drawers in the bedside cabinet had a keypad on it, so was lockable to secure personal valuables. Having previously had money stolen from my purse when I was admitted to another hospital (not SJOG) where I couldn't lock valuables away, it was pleasing to see that this security aspect had been thought through. The private ensuite was wonderful with a chair in the shower which made things much easier as I couldn't stand without crutches. There were plenty of towels which were changed daily and limitless hot water. The handrails for people like me with injuries were in just the right place and there were several of them. Even little complimentary botles of shampoo and conditioner were provided, just like a hotel! The food deserves special mention. I don't know who is in charge of the ktchen, but I see a Michelin star headed their way! Atlantic salmon, stuffed vine leaves and feta cheese salad, mushroom crepe, turkey with cranberry sauce, salmon patties, honey soy chicken, baked fish in parmesan crumbs, roast chicken, vegetable lasagna, to say nothing of beautiful scrambled egg each morning as well as my favourite stewed prunes... I could go on and on. The quality of meals in SJOG Subiaco would put most restaurants in Perth to shame! Coffee and tea was served morning and afternoon by the kindest and most delightful staff who always had a smile on their faces and were only too happy to stop for a chat. The support staff I saw were great too - Beth, the lovely and very patient physio, who taught me to walk up and down stairs on crutches using a clever mantra so that I got the order of legs and crutch right as well as the occupational therapist who discussed possible workarounds at home to make life easier while my injury healed. I even had a call from the social worker once I'd been discharged and was at home to arrange a home care package for me.So all in all, a fantastic experience and I almost didn't want to leave! If I ever doubted the reason why I pay my private hospital cover every year, this stay vindicated my decision to keep doing so. It's worth every cent when one gets care like I had in a first-class facility where everything far surpasses expectations.

my daughter had a surgery scheduled for the 10th of june and we got told on the 8th of june that since there is not enough staff on duty on the 10th they have had to reschedule her surgery 3 weeks later.

I have just had surgery and felt concerned having seen so much on hospital staff strikes, on going COVID and hospital related issues.I need not have worried. The whole experience was 100% with quality care in each area. Nurses showed care and were bright and cheerful despite being busy. The orderlies were smart, cheerful and chatted to me as they pushed me to the theatre and back. The range of food was delicious and potions to suit individual needs. The one and only negative was the coffee which was terrible.Thank you to all staff for the care and kindness. You all deserve a good wage.

I had my baby delivered here. The nurses and midwives are really helpful and patient. During my labour, the midwives were extremely patient and had given me a lot of support. The food was AMAZING in the ward. They even prepared candlelight dinner for the new parents :)

I had a knee replacement last Thursday and felt compelled to contact the hospital and tell them how impressed I was with my quality of care.Dr Gavin Clark, Dr Shaun O’Brien, their staff and all of the nursing staff were simply amazing. The staff in the operating theatre really helped me to feel less stressed and were so down to earth I instantly trusted them all.Once back on the ward I was so impressed with the nursing staff. In particular: Keah(physio), Nat, Bim , Simy, Hannah and Kate. They are all a credit to your organisation. So thank you for allowing me to have such a pleasant experience with my stay, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend your hospital or your staff to others.

We had our first born baby here in September and it was an incredible experience! My OB was outstanding, the team that performed my C section were amazing and so professional. They even captured the most incredible photos for us while we were enjoying the first moments of being parents. Highly recommend for a birthing experience!Worth noting the midwives on the ward were SO over worked and understaffed it did feel like at times that I was bothering them when I needed help or supplies (formula, bottles etc as we didn’t expect BF issues), and I received very differing opinions from each midwife which was confusing as a first time mum. However, everyone was lovely and very helpful when they did eventually get to us.Food was insanely good.Rooms were gorgeous and warm (it was freezing outside).Post natal classes on offer were fantastic. Can’t wait to come back for our second baby!

I spent all morning trying to get an estimate for an overnight admission post-surgery. Nada. I was forwarded from one division to another. Surely it’s not rocket science to get an average estimate of an overnight stay in the hospital? And there is no compassion or empathy, and a complete shambles. How can I trust them to perform surgery on my body if the admissions or accounts or head office or front desk, which were some of those I spoke to, are unable to do some basic maths for an estimate? A complete joke.
