Beautiful area to visit especially in autumn. Such a typical Australian landscape like something you’d see in old paintings.The walking track takes you across the little creek and up onto the hillside where there’s a viewing platform. You can keep walking past this though there’s a narrow track so be careful near the edge. It then opens up nicely. Many photo opportunities.Bulk parking. Toilets. Benches. Tables. Seating. Big slide. Walking tracks. Two springs. Swimming area. Rope swing. Old buildings.No camping. No campfire. No dogs.Would definitely visit again.

Beautiful safe swimming hole. There on Sat 8th Jan 21 and it was really fun. Lots of friendly families and doggies having fun. Lots of shade and space for everyone. There is a 'free camp' area that was well utilized. Lots of flat spaces and shade. Public toilets but no showers

Was closed for vehicular traffic due to flood warning. Chrck details on Parks Victoria prior.But the springs is pretty good. Water doesnt look very clean but its pretty decent.At one apot there is a tree with a rope to allow an adventurous swing drop in to the water.

It has a lot of picnic tables, elevating a simple place into somewhere to spend some time. I saw one walking track and it was so rough I wouldn't attempt it. I didn't go on the springs walk though, so that might have been more developed. Quite nice considering there is not much else around to visit. The weather would have to be sunnier and brighter to elevate it a bit more as cloudy weather doesn't do it justice.

Small campsite with slide or steps available to access flush toilets, swimming hole and picnic area with bbq. Rotunda,and disused (?) miniature train track & kiosk. Very peaceful.

Such a lovely place to visit in Autumn. Beautiful leaves, blue sky, tall gum trees and tranquil gardens. A very long and high slide is built on a steep hill, so no danger of falling. Wooden steps lead to top. Kids were enjoying themselves and adults too. A dam and mini waterfall leads to the creek. (River?) Rocks of varied colours and shapes everywhere. Several picnic tables, clean toilets and of course mineral springs. There are 2 pumps, but only one was working. A kiosk which I remember many years ago, provided snacks and icecreams, looks as though it is no longer operating. We took a picnic, walked around the area, and enjoyed the slide.

Vaughan Mineral Springs Reserve is tucked away at the back of Castlemaine in the National Heritage Park. Aittle oasis of calmness and beauty. It boasts a giant slide, pavilion and mineral water pumps. Fabulous picnic area and swimming spot. Complete heaven.

Loved this hike! It’s a bit sad that the land was decimated during the gold rush era but nice Tj see that nature is clawing her way back again! There is also a fun slide for children!
