Kathleen did a wonderful job with my hair. My curls have never looked healthier and more defined. She also gave me some great tips to make sure my curls look great every time I wash my hair. I will definitely return to Shades of Curls for my next haircut!

Recently had an amazing experience here. As a curly haired guy I find it really overwhelming with all the advice online, but as soon as I walked into Kathleen’s salon I felt at ease. Kathleen is highly skilled and experienced and answered all my questions. She really took the time to get to know me and my hair, and gave great insights into what I can do to maintain my hair at home. Apart from that, her salon has such a nice vibe and ambience, which felt very welcoming. I have already recommended Shades of Curls to my friends.

My daughters who are bi-racial and who have very thick Afro like curly hair have never been happy with how hairdressers have been cutting their hair in the past. After much research into curl hair specialists we came across Shades of Curls and decided to make appointments based on the positive reviews. Kathleen lived up to those reviews and my daughters hair both look fabulous, great shape and curls have never looked better. I can honestly say that they will definitely be booking their future cuts, colours and treatments with Kathleen

Kathleen cut my hair and she did an amazing job. I’m new to the country and was looking for a curly hair salon. She perfectly listened to the photos and expectations I had while taking time and attention to detail. She fully styled my hair and gave me tips for at home too. Her prices were by far the lowest in the area but quality was superb.

Finally found someone who knows how to cut my curly hair! Kathleen is very lovely and has a lot of knowledge when it comes to cutting and taking care of curly hair. I came in with very bad haircut from this hairdresser I went to a year ago and she explained to me why dry cutting is the most effective technique for curly hair people. She fixed my hair and I am in love. Service was superb and she also offers drinks & snacks. Also the salon has very nice cozy vibe. Definitely will be coming back! Thank you so much Kathleen for fixing my hair.

It was a great experience from the moment I walked in. Kat was very welcoming and has great talent with wavy and curly hair. Not to mention the very relaxing head massage after the dry haircut.The result was so much better than expected and I feel it is way more manageable to maintain.After 13 years in Sydney, I think I finally found my favourite hairdresser, that really understands and gets the best out of my natural hair.

Came in for the first time in December wanting to try and see if my shapeless hair was in fact curly and Kathleen did not disappoint. My hair straightener hasn't left the cupboard since my first visit and I just went back.The haircut was flattering and allowed my curls to form and she gave me great advice to make it easier ton maintain it. My hair has never been that healthy and I now only need it to wash it once a week.Kathleen is also friendly but not invasive, time in her chair flew as I had a great time on both of my visits.

Kathleen is a real specialist and professional in curly hair. I came to her thinking I only had wavy hair and that it was too long to make it curly naturally and she blew my mind, giving me a new routine for my hair to be naturally curly and healthy, without any blow dry. The products she uses are mostly organic and specific for curls, she explained in details the essential routine to wash curly hair soki can care better for my hair and style it the way I want. 100% recommend to anyone struggling with thick wavy or curly hair!!
