I have been to many Turkish restaurants, with my Turkish partner, but this is more than your average staple Turkish restaurant. Everything is made in house with fresh ingredients and the meat and vegetables are cooked on an open grill with coals. As vegan/vegetarian, we had many options from homemade dips and starters, mixed vege kebab with rice and salad, and lots of hot fresh Turkish bread. We have been here more than several times dining with meat eaters and everyone has praised the food. And don't forget the home made dessert - honestly, the best baklava I have ever tasted! You'll be sorry to choose another Turkish restaurant over this one. Well done, Erhan and team! Excellent service always with smiles :)

We went for a dinner there. Dips were amazing. Meats were delicious. And host was perfect. Latife welcomed us with a big smile and took care of us. Highly recommended!

Amazing delicious Turkish food. We have been to several Turkish restaurants in Sydney - Kayra is the best! Exceptional service and there was live music when we went too. Really great ambiance.

So delicious!Change of management and still the same scrumptious food we always enjoy.This beautiful family run spot has a fond place in our heart.We always bring friends visiting theInner West for a lovely Turkish experience.Get lots of dips, Turkish tea and a mix grill- you can’t go wrong!

We popped into Kayra with very little time to spare for a quick bite to eat before a show at the Enmore (right opposite). We were greeted by a lovely lady that went out of her way to find us a table on a very busy night and recommend something quick and tasty to eat. The food was delicious, the staff were wonderful and we hope to come back one day and spend a little more time there enjoying a longer dining experiencef

We popped in for dinner last night after seeing the great reviews and we were not disappointed! Staff super friendly, Turkish beer was delicious, the lamb kebab and eggplant dip was to die for. Flavours were fresh and authentic and we both really enjoyed our meal. Will definitely be back and recommend!

To find something interesting for dinner. Even pass few Turkish restaurants and made me think why I haven't tried to eat Turkish food. Cozy, tidy and nice atmosphere. Happy to find a nice place to eat. Nice vegetarian and Lamb Kebab are amazing. Turkish bread and dip was on the house. Thanks for amazing food and service. I hope you could introduce more Turkish cuisine.

All I can say is wow. Went here based on the reviews and it didn't disappoint. The food is excellent.We had a mixed meze as an entree and there was easily enough for 3 perhaps 4, the yoghurt and cucumber dip was particularly good.We also had a serve of stuffed cabbage which was fresh and delicious.We shared a plate of chicken kebabs and kofte which were tender and juicey and seasoned perfectly. Each plate also comes with some sides which included some grilled green chilli which is something I haven't seen since I was last in Turkey.To finish off and just like Turkey there's complimentary tea which is the perfect end to the meal.There's also a really relaxed vibe at Kayra which is a mixture of the design details, the picture of Attaturk on the wall and the relaxed nature of the 2 gentlemen that look after you.This is easily my new favourite place and I look forward to coming back time after time.
