The Gladstone Hotel

Perfect stop for our family!We were on a road trip and it was the perfect stop with kids, they loved the pool. VERY tidy and affordable, we had a room with two Queens that slept the 4 of us.Beds were just incredibly comfortable, the windows closed fully so we could have our room dark and the air conditioner we could control to a perfect level (you know some hotels auto switch off and you wake up hot and bothered during the night), well having a split system meant we were in control.The bathroom was extremely clean and tidy. Could not fault.Yes it’s an older hotel, but everything was clean, comfortable and convenient to restaurants - also recommend the Yacht Club for dinner and Familia for breakfast (we always stop at these on our trips).We will be back again!Thank you

Make no mistake this place is old, but, it is clean, comfortable and central to everything. It seems like they are also in the process of updating the rooms, which will be great. We have been coming here for a few years and found that this place has everything that we needed. Very comfortable beds too well worth the money. I am looking forward to seeing the results of the renovations.

Stayed 1 night and used the Conference Room during our stay. As with most other comments, the room was dated" and in need of a facelift but was OK

Run down Hotel ...NOT 4 Stars. The lifts don't work all of the time. Ground floor lift doesn't work. The Hotel was very run down. The carpet throughout the Hotel is old and walking down the hallway was very unpleasant and is in desperate need of new paint. The bed was very uncomfortable, the chairs were old and they lacked padding. My bath/shower plug was badly rusted. How does this Hotel get a 4 Star rating??

A bit expensive, but room was nice, clean and roomy. Food was ok, don't have the beetroot risotto though, it looked like raw mince, flavour didn't taste like beetroot either. Tiramisu was to die for though.

Nice place but very unfriendly staff. Also take $200 deposit in one second, and then take 5 to 7 business days to give it back?Good enough for a passing by" stay."

Twin deluxe room, modern, clean and spacious with comfy beds.Great location. Would recommend.

Hotel is tired looking. Pool had seen better days. Strange loud noises coming from the ceiling making sleep difficult (internal air con?).Arrived a hour and a half early, we had a choice of paying a $50 Early Fee or coming back. After a long day travelling I paid the punitive fee. NOT HAPPY especially as the room was available.I cancelled our booking for 2 days later in the week and changed hotels. Great decision.These are opinions based on my stay, as a frequent traveller, others should draw their own conclusions based on their own experiences.

The room is what you would expect, simple and dated. I am concerned about the $200 deposit requested on my arrival as this has never happened to me before, one wonders on what basis they make this claim. Is it a policy due to frequently receiving undesirable guests, or discrimination due to my appearance?Upon checkout they processed a refund of this security deposit, 48hrs later and I am still yet to receive it.If you want smooth, simple accommodation.. probably book elsewhere.

Easy check in. I booked online and prepaid. Room was decent size and had good views. No complaints, everything went smoothly
