Alan came to our house the first time to do a minor service on our Audi A8 and was so professional and knowledgeable. First person we thought of when the vehicle needed major repairs to the cooling system. Travelled 2 hours back to the GC to see him.

I don’t particularly like to write negative reviews especially when the majority are positive but feel that some people may benefit from our experience.We have a golf gti with a failed engine and spoke to Alan a few months back regarding cost and we’re given an estimate of 4-7 k and we were agreeable. We spent a few months saving the money and had it towed to Alan.Alan diagnosed with his computer and confirmed the estimate. But upon pulling apart the engine he discovered that the “engine block” was damaged and a further 3-4 k plus extras was required to fix it. Suddenly the quote for an old gti blew out to over 10k.He politely explained that he only found out after pulling it apart. But, upon questioning , he mentioned that there were some signs of further damage to the block. Nothing was mentioned about this at the time of diagnosis.We found another mechanic that was able to restore the car at a cheaper rate and thought we’d tow it away. Then came the bill for pulling apart the engine -over $1700. Of course he emphasised that he wouldn’t release it until paid.I feel that he should have been more transparent about the possible outcome before starting and should have been clearer about the diagnosis possibility relating to the block .I also think that pulling an engine apart for 1700 is very steep especially considering he never spoke about this possibility before the fact. When trying to negotiate , he claimed that he has bills to pay - simply terrible customer service and no responsibility for the lack of transparency.We walked away paying over $1700 for a pulled apart engine. My advice is ask as many questions as possible to mitigate paying for a disservice.

Allan was excellent and very thorough in diagnosing issues with my Audi. He went above and beyond in explaining the mechanical issues and providing efficient service. I would recommend his services to anyone and will definitely be back in future!

Allan is the best mechanic my husband and I have ever used. He has helped me numerous times in the past few months and fixed issues that other services caused. His knowledge is incredible, he always is timely and fast to fit you in, he has been super flexible with times for me juggling a newborn and has done an amazing job. Above all he is genuine & honest unlike a lot of mechanics I’ve used in the past. He knows Audis incredibly well and attention to detail is next to none. Allan was fantastic. The battery in my VW Golf died without any notice. Allan came at very short notice, replaced the battery, explained everything that he was doing at a very competitive price. Very professional service and very experienced. Highly recommend this business for all car needs.

Allan was able to fit me in at short notice for some engine diagnostics and a suspension recalibration. Prompt, professional service. Very knowledgeable mechanic and happy to spend the extra time to discuss future plans for the car. Car rides and handles much more comfortably now. Highly recommend - will be back ✌️
