What can I say. When we arrived the bathroom was completely dirty and disgusting. The mattresses are uncomfortable and you feel like you are laying on wood. In the kitchen are maggots on the ceiling. They are crawling everywhere to get some food and you have to be scared that they fall on your head. The pictures from online are not like the real life. Even after two times cleaning a day, the bathroom is still dirty and you don’t want to go in there. All in all I can’t recommend this hostel we have been in quite a few and it was way better than here.

We recently booked 31 beds at Aquarius for a uni event. Room prices were competitive, location was great, and facilities and parties were amazing. Service, especially by Teneil Dean, was beyond expectations :)

Best hostel I done since Im in Australia! Big room and bathroom! And the most important is that everything was clean.. I recommend this hostel. What’s more a welcome drink ans dinner for free

Location is super nice, you are basically in 2 minutes in the „city center“ (Byron is not that big) and 3 minutes until the beach! You are able to print something at the front desk and you are getting a free meal every night. However the rooms are very clairaudient, the bathroom (1 toilet, 1 shower) for 10 people is in the same room … you can do your laundry but only in a cold wash program… I would come again but only for a night or two. The private room is not really private either, so when you book I suggest to go with the shared room.Thank you!

Good Location, Good Facilities, good staff… However, the room’s are decent at best with no air con but they’ve provided small fans that circulate warm air around the room.The wifi isn’t even worth mentioning because it’s basically non existent.Free small plates of food and gaming facilities are the best thing worth mentioning.

Rooms are gross. There were ants all over my room. The bathroom is terrible. The main problem being that there's only one bathroom for 10 people. The airconditioning wasn't working. The kitchen was disgusting, especially the tables. The only positives are the location & the vibe. It's right in the centre, close to everything. The café next door is also nice. It's a very social hostel. The free dinners and activities are a great way to meet people.

The hostel is very close to the beach but I would not recommend to go there. It was really dirty and lound at night. The housekeeping wakes you up in the morning with their loud music speakers they take into the rooms while people are sleeping. I was hoping to be able to take a shower after they cleaned the bathroom for almost an hour but the bathroom was still disgusting.No spoons or cups.

I would have thought it reasonable to be informed when booking or at the latest when checking in that a private party was being held in the courtyard of the night of our booking. Very loud techno babble being played until 11.20pm impossible to sleep.or even relax. Bar area very crowded with queues at the bar, so gave up trying to get a beer. Very disappointed, will not stay there again. Also no hot water!Check what's on before you bookDespite clean rooms with towels etc. Poor value for money ie. Expensive

That Argentinian guy that works in the coffee Mondays and Tuesdays really helped me out and made my day. My next stay in Byron bay will be in this hostel thanks to him.The location also worked out good for me.Thank you Sebastian!!!
