Moonta Medical Centre

The first GP I’ve ever heard of to refuse booking an appointment until medical records have been transferred. They refused again even after explaining my situation, a small infected cut, that required medical attention, but did not warrant a hospital emergency visit.Absolutely appalling considering I’ve been a resident of Moonta for more than 2 years now, but have been fortunate enough to not need a GP visit.I don’t know if I’ll bother with them, it seems less trouble to drive 1hr 39mins to the nearest long-hour clinic in Munno Para. I’d rather my money being spent in a clinic that actually cares about their patients, not pushing 5-minute script appointments, so I’ve heard. I can see why my partner, who’s lived here his entire life, avoids them like the plague.

Hard to book an appointment at this centre. The receptionist's can be quite rude and ignorant at times I always feel like I'm just a number at this surgery, they need to smile more and have more empathy. I suffer from mental a illness and everytime I go in their I feel anxious because of the staff. A doctor's office should not make you feel that way. And they disabled booking online appointments, which came in really handy especially when you in pain as I am and don't have phone credit to ring them. They need to revaluate their practices and become people for the people. These are the receptionist's I'm talking about, not the doctors they are fine. Have some more compassion Moonta medical.

Disgusting, this is a sausage factory, they are only interested in pumping patients through. The Doctor who owns the centre should be ashamed of himself, patients get rushed out the door and made feel bad for wanting correct medical care. There is no one to hold them to account unfortunately, especially on how they discriminate against the elderly absolutely disgusting….so much for being a care giver.

This clinic would not allow me to book an appointment as I was from another state, and they were not seeing visitors. I had a chest infection and was told to phone my doctor in Qld and have a telehealth consultation. My own doctor was not impressed. I do not recommend this centre even one star..

They are happy to discriminate against the elderly who are not comfortable with getting an experimental vaccine and refuse to treat them Shame on you

nothing but stuck up girls on the phone who have had life handed to them.... they dont care about helping you are just another number to them

I called the Moonta Medical Centre at 10:05am today and spoke to Sri who is my mother's doctor. He wouldn’t discuss my mother's health with me because my sister's name only is on her health notes. He asked for my phone number and said he will call me back after he speaks to my sister to get her permission for me to discuss my mother's health. I waited until 3:30pm and he hadn't called me back so I called the medical centre. A receptionist (I presume) spoke to the doctor and he told her he hadn't called me back because my sister told him not to. He has very bad manners because he had told me he would call me back; that's why he had asked for my phone number. How can he not call me back because my sister told him not to? I'm disgusted at his appalling manners!

Careful people, leaving a bad review and / or post about them will have you taken off of the patient list just like me.There was no asking or resolving issues at hand just told to leave at the start of my appointment (paid to dismiss me) and then charge to have my medical records transferred. I have been with the clinic for 14 years and one bad remark due to terrible treatment from 1 admin staff, when the girl in question yells as I was leaving, “I hope that’s ok” in front of around 10 patients knowing I was already agitated. No effort to find out why I left a negative remark just told that is the reason I am not longer welcome at the clinic, when I said that I was treated so badly, the remark back was “why are you here then?” Not any effort was made to go into it further to resolve the issue and rebuild the relationship. I have been a good patient for those 14 years but one remark left me without medical treatment, ongoing care and out of pocket cost.(specialist notes due to a severe back condition, a very bad tooth that required active attention and medication for pain) I was left feeling very depressed, suffered negative thoughts all because they didn’t see me as a valued patient but a threat to their reputation. I was reprimanded severely for how I was treated and another’s actions and obviously having the courage to voice this. I see it now as a blessing in disguise because the doctor I will see on the 8th of May has a wonderful reputation and cannot wait to start me medical journey with her. Myself and my family will no longer step foot in this place ( I am not allowed to but the rest of my family have also decided to leave due to the treatment I received). So please be aware of the ramifications if you leave a bad review and / or remark.. you too will be black listed…

I struggle with mental health. So appointments are quite regular here. But the way the receptionist speak over the phone is cruel and disgusting. To literally tell the other lady next to you my name in the tone you did. Makes me wonder the faces yous were pulling. Im sorry life wasn’t served on a golden platter for me like you. Our phone calls are confidential. How many others heard you say my name?If you struggle with mental health. DONT RECOMMEND MOONTA MEDICAL CENTRE.Only good thing running for them is the beautiful clinical lab girls! And doctor Asif.Fiona I hope you read this and understand what damage you caused. Tone is everything. Let alone the way you treat your clients. Especially ones who struggle MENTALLY! I rang up seeking help and now sit here questioning if I’m actually worth the doctors time.Do better.
