Grand Western Lodge

We had two lovely nights with our son, daughter in law and grand daughter at the Grand Western Lodge. A friendly welcome from Liz - the rooms are clean, well designed and have all the things you need including a small fridge. Don't be put off by the shared bathrooms - there are plenty of them, and they are new and clean and quite large. Ian has done a wonderful job of renovating a heritage building, keeping the feel of yester year with all the modern conveniences. A large dining area is a way to meet other guests with a lovely breakfast included. Don't forget to spend some time on the beautiful balcony to watch the sun set over the western hills. Milthorpe is a wonderful place for a few days away.

Stayed here for a week whilst working .Room immaculate and comfortable . Host and staff super willing to make sure you have a good time , nothing to hard . Bathrooms immaculate. Can’t recommend highly enough if your looking for a quiet stay in a quiet town .

The Grand Western Lodge has been beautifully renovated by the new owner Ian Gillings. It is such an iconic building and has been brought back to life with stunning fittings and furniture with contemporary and beautifully designed bathrooms (great showers!!). Millthorpe is such a cute village, a treasure trove of food, coffee, wine and history etc we loved every minute!!

Full transparency, we know the owner, however, he has done a remarkable renovation. The rooms are really comfortable. I slept like a log and suspect that it was a combination of the luxurious king size bed and the quietness of Millthorpe. The showers and toilets are shared, away from the room, but that’s just like an old country pub. They are beautifully renovated and the showers were great! Love the Lodge!!!

We had a wonderful stay at the Grand Western Lodge. Right from the beginning, from booking over the telephone directly to Ian the owner. The whole duration of our stay over three days did not disappoint. The rooms were new, modern and clean. The amenities were also immaculate. The best part of our stay was the host Ian, his generosity and high spirit, ensuring we were happy and fulfilled with all we needed to know about Milnthorpe and its surrounds. We'll be back again.

What a great place to stay. Staff are wonderfully inviting and made sure I had everything I wanted.I thought the shared bathrooms would be a drawback but they are brand new and very modern. Each room has a shower, toilet and sink.Ian is a lovely host.

The Grand Western Lodge is spectacular. Handsome state of the art rooms, wonderful staff and outlook. Spotlessly clean and comfortable. The proprietor Ian Gillings has helped so many people in our community including local schools and most recently, he has supported significant numbers of Ukrainian refugees who have settled in the Central West. Bring your family, friends and colleagues and enjoy a wonderful stay while taking in the wineries, art, food and best Village of NSW, Millthorpe!

I stayed here for 4 nights and hope to stay at the Lodge each time I am in the area.Very comfortable room with everything that you need.Our hosts at the Lodge were great, always ready to help if we needed anything.Thanks GWL, I had a great stay.

What a great experience! From the moment we walked in we were surprised by the cleanliness, the warmth (temperature and feeling) Ian the owner is a gracious host. I couldnt have asked for a better experience. If there was a 6th star i would add it.

We stayed here for our last mine shutdown. The staff are amazing & went above & beyond to help us with anything we required. The decor is fresh & appealing, the rooms are second to none.Highly recommended for any looking for a very good experience.
