The 1910 Ironworks

Steve Hogwood is a true, passionate artisan that I would recommend in a heartbeat. He crafted a unique set of fireplace tools for our home that will last forever and are a joy to use. And beyond the finished product, the process was fun, fascinating and friendly. He hand-sketched the design, put me in an apron in his workshop and delivered the final product to our fireplace. Steve and his crew have done a remarkable job at restoring my old rayburn, it was in such a state of disrepair the transformation was quite extraordinary. I'd never imagined the stove would restore as well as it did. a testimony to the craftsmanship and skill of these artisans.they have managed to breath new life into this beautiful old stove, one which will stand in our home, warming and feeding us for many more years to come, and no doubt for many generations to come!Steve displayed great passion and craftsmanship in this journey. i couldn't be happier.many thanks 1910.

We had a Rayburn stove fully refurbished by 1910 Ironworks so it is now good for another 60 years. Steve and his colleagues kept us informed on progress and sought our responses when needed. Very happy with the result.

Had a 1 on 1 season with Steve last week. My request for a session was a bit last minute and Steve was very accommodating in fitting me in.Steve had the day planned out which I turned upside down when I asked to make something completely different (a rose candle holder). I showed Steve a photo of what I had in mind and he said “yep, we’re going to be busy”. We started with forging the rose leaves and the stem, then the rose it’s self and to finish off combining it all together.A bite to eat (pies), home made biscuits and a big cup of tea. (Thanks Mrs Steve)The finished piece is absolutely a work of art and I thank Steve for his time, patience and passing on a skill that truly is being lost or would’ve been if it wasn’t for people him him.If you want a fun day with some age old skills to take home, give Steve a call!! 5-5!!!

My journey with Stephen and the team at 1910 has been one of joy as I have met those with a similiar passion to myself for restoration and doing things right. Our new home had a single No 4 Younger" wood burning oven however had a gap where a second oven would have been originally. Not only did they restore the old one and indeed make it fully operational (& safe) Stephen managed to find a second one (Yes a "No 4"!!) and restore this one too. Their work involved taking every piece apart and lovingly fixing where required and rebuilding both to a condition they would have been in 1910. Their attention to detail

Steve and his team have been amazing. He communicated with us every step of the way, and we just love our new feature fence panels. I would highly recommend 1910 to anyone.

We are so thrilled with our 5 piece outdoor French setting, which was terribly rusted and in disrepair, Steve has restored it to be so much stronger and more beautiful than it was originally.Steve is such an artisan and it is such a pleasure to witness someone who enjoys & is so proud of their work as much as him & his crew.

I recently had a very dilapidated AGA rebuilt by Steve and the team at 1910 Ironworks. The result was beyond my expectations. Steve did an amazing job in restoring the AGA back to its former glory. He also kept me well informed as to his progress along the way. I can't recommend Steve at 1910 Ironworks highly enough - 10 out of 10!!

Steve and his team have just finished restoring a 1950's Metters Bega No.2 stove for us. It was in original condition so needed a lot of love. Steve removed the stove onsite then took it to the Southern Highlands and worked some serious magic. It is now the most fabulous as-new 1950's Metters Bega No.2 stove. Actually it is spectacular, and far exceeded our expectations. The internal components have been totally replaced so it now meets all Australian standards and works like a dream. Steve is a fantastic bloke and couldn't be more helpful. He delivered it back to us about 2 weeks earlier than expected. If I could give him 10 gold stars I would. He's a magician. Thanks Steve.
