Urban Workout
For more than 10 years prior to Urban Workout I was your usual off-and-on member of various gyms, usually the big chain franchises. As with 99.9% of real life humans I experience periods of low motivation when it comes to training. Unfortunately the environment and business model of those large gyms didn’t help with the ongoing battle. Having to jostle for machines and equipment at busy times with show-ponies and meat-heads, having to waste already limited time preparing equipment for use, so called ‘trainers’ showing absolutely no interest in you or your fitness, injuries and goals beyond the 5 minute induction you get when you first join. We've all experienced it.Then a former work colleague introduced me to Urban Workout and at the risk of sounding like your average fake testimony on a cheesy American midnight infomercial, I can quite easily say that going for the free intro session was hands down the best decision I have EVER made where my health and fitness are concerned. Let’s put it this way, I won’t be going back to traditional gyms. The relationship that you build with the trainers and the genuine interest and time that they invest in your fitness single-handedly helps you commit to getting to each session. You actually look forward to going. You don’t have to force yourself to go and there is none of this, “I’ll give it a miss today” attitude that it used to be so easy to fall back on. On the flipside if you need flexibility due to personal commitments they are always accommodating. The groups are small, friendly, sociable and inclusive, yet not intrusive. We can engage with others as much or as little as we like, there are no expectations or pretences. Everyone respects each other’s space. They prepare the equipment including setting your weight so you don’t have to think about it and can just focus all your energy on the physical activity at hand. They are always willing to provide nutrition and dietary advice and if it’s the sort of thing you are interested in, advice on nutritional supplements.Throughout sessions, we are constantly monitored by at least one; usually two of the trainers, Andrew, Royden & Mel. They not only make sure our form and technique is safe and conducive to getting the best results but also motivate us and push us as hard as we want to go (or shall I say, as hard as we said we wanted to go at the start of the session!). Don’t be mistaken though, their attention is thankfully stealth-like, none of this extreme overhanging harassment that you might get at an overzealous boot camp. Also, when required, they provide truly personalised training routines to help tackle injuries or fatigue and even muscular massages when you are experiencing joint or muscle tension. To summarise, it’s worth every penny, and some. I have since referred two other work colleagues to Urban Workout and like me they are both now regulars.Pretty lengthy review, I know, but anything less simply wouldn’t do justice to the work these guys do.(FYI Im a 34 year old male)

Urban Workout is second to none. They have been instrumental in assisting with both physical and mental well being. You really notice the difference from other gyms, as they do actually care and take an interest in your health. This has been a lifesaver, especially over the last few years. They are highly recommended if you are serious about feeling better.

I find the Urban Workout experience to be fantastic. It’s small group personal training, with everyone working at their own pace. The trainers are great instructors but also friendly and supportive, and they are very knowledgeable when it comes to rehabilitation exercises. Finally, Urban Workout is a fun and social place to get fit.

I am a big fan of Urban Workout. It is not just a workout - it is bringing the community together in the name of fitness. If you attend regularly you build a rapport with not only the trainers - Andrew, Mel and Jesse - but you have a lot of laughs as well as discuss issues with the other people who attend. And there is no lycra!!!So come along and join in!

My sessions at Urban Workout are essential in my week. Not only have I made great friends with others who workout there, the personal attention I get from Andrew, Royden and Mel, help me to get the most out of every session. They've encouraged and supported me, and I know that my strength, overall fitness and feelings of wellness is down to their expertise. Thanks you guys! Amazing.

Urban Workout
I've been going to Urban Workout since 2007 (so 8 years now) and I absolutely love it because:1) I started off being very unfit, but now I'm a lot fitter, stronger, healthier and happier.2) The exercises are a good mix of high-intensity cardio, core and strength-training, so it's an all-body workout.3) It's training in a small group, so the attention given by the instructors is similar to personal training and top-notch, but less expensive4) The exercises changes every month, so it's not boring at all5) The instructors and other gym members are very nice and there's a real sense of camaraderie and community. I look forward to the workouts even though it's hard work.I was never a fan of gyms, but Urban Workout has changed my perception.

Urban Workout
A great place to work out with a fun and friendly atmosphere. The team at Urban workout provided specialised workout programs for me during my pregnancy and postnatally. At first I was worried about over exercising while pregnant, but they were very reassuring and checked in with me all the time both during workouts and after workouts to make sure I was safe. I can't thank them enough for their genuine care and concern in supporting my health, fitness and wellbeing during this time.
