IF YOU’VE LODGED YOUR TAX RETURN WITH H&R BLOCK I SUGGEST REPORTING THEM TO THE TAX PRACTITIONER’S BOARD IF YOU NEVER RECEIVED YOUR REFUND!I lodged my very simple 2022 tax return in October and they never actually finalised it despite taking the entirety of my 2021 tax return with the total tax refund being more than their stated fee (which they also lie about.)No receipt was given so they’ve essentially gotten away with stealing my money. I will be reporting them to the TPB regardless.And I see that they are replying to google reviews faster than the multiple phone calls and several emails I've sent!

Not really confident that my tax return was completed correctly or that the person I was dealing with understood my questions. They sent me a feedback form which I completed, and was told I'd be contacted to discuss it but no one ever rang. Didn't really get a sense of certainty about my questions unfortunately and they conveniently hook you in saying $99 for a basic tax return and then it is something totally different at the end!

If I could give negative stars I would -After my initial consult and giving all the information for the filing and it was complete service dropped off the map - I filed in the beginning of July.I still do not have a resolution yet - every few weeks they will give a new Time line of when the issues will be corrected or when they will get back to me and although they are not consistent in anything else those time lines fly by with no contact and or solutions -If your taxes are very simple sure chance it and give them a shot but if there is any issues do not expect them to reply to you for months in this case 3 months -Just go some where else and avoid the hassle

Wouldn’t even give 1 star. Booked an appointment , get called one evening asking if I’m coming to do my return - the appointment got booked for the wrong date so rescheduled. The rescheduled appointment then got rescheduled because the accountant didn’t do any basic checks which would have pointed out they need ATO approval to access my account as my TFN had been compromised ( I thought tax agents got automatic access and it was only me who needed to have the ATO give me access , so didn’t mention this) the 3rd rescheduled appointment the accountant only spent 10 minutes on the phone doing my return, not putting any effort or care into making sure I got my maximum return. Also a $30 fee to take your appt cost out of your return is pathetic , especially with the unprofessionalism and terrible quality of service. I filled out the survey with my complaints and was promised contact by the manager within 3 days. It’s now been 5. Totally Regret using HR block , would have been better to just do it myself. Biggest waste of $130.

This place has to be the ‘cheap and nasty’ of the accounting world. At least with ‘cheap and nasty’ you usually get something for your money. After my tax return consultation with H&R Block Footscray almost 2 months ago and $154 out of pocket, all I’ve received is a fee for no service. Countless phone calls and emails, a written complaint to the company’s National office, a subsequent follow-up consultation and I still have no answers? No answers as to why my tax return was never lodged, and no answers as to why all my requests for a full refund have been ignored. I’ve now given up chasing these shysters and am relying on my credit card company to assist in recovering my lost funds.

I really didn’t want to leave this review because they’ve always been nice to me there but I’ve been waiting another week for a call back re my complaint so here goes:I had my taxes done and a few weeks later I checked the status on my gov and it said they were still waiting to be filled. I rung handrblock and spoke to someone who confirmed the mistake but said they didn’t know what had happened and would get someone to call me back within 24 hours that did not happen I called another two times and emailed once before getting through to a person a week later who said that she didn’t know what had happened but mine and a bunch of other peoples taxes had not gone through and she was doing them again, she was apologetic and said she would call back to discuss a discount on my service the next day after she would call to confirm everything had gone through. I can see on myGov that tax has been lodged but after waiting a week for a call back I emailed asking for the promised discussion and again waited a week and nothing. I get that mistakes happen but it’s the fact that you just can’t get through to anyone to talk about it and it’s a fairly basic requirement of a business to call when you say you will.I’ve had pretty okay experiences and H&r out of busy times but during peek periods it’s been disappointing.

Shocking experience, tax return was meant to be back in 2 weeks and it's now been 5, have returned 1 email from the 6 I've sent over the last 3 weeks. ATO hasn't even received the email yet, absolutely no effort made to reach out either reactively or proactively.Strongly recommend looking elsewhere for your tax services.

Meeting was booked for Tuesday. It was cancelled late Tuesday. Was told I would be contacted Thursday to re book. Well no surprises - Korch did not contact me Thursday. I would never treat my clients with such disrespect. I have now gone elsewhere. The reviews of this office speaks volumes. Korch if you read this do not bother contacting me.

Ely was bloody phenomenal. The fact that I was able to get an evening appointment in “off season” was phenomenal and super helpful to my schedule. Ely was patient with me, thorough, helpful and speedy. We had a good laugh and I got some quality information regarding tax return lodgement. I can’t thank Ely for her time and patience enough. Such a lovely person, definitely recommend.

Have lodged tax return back in early July. Have tried multiple times to get through by phone and even setting up more appointments with no call backs. The main branch eventually had to send an email directly to my accountant in Footscray and I finally got an update in August. Tax return was apparently not lodged the first time? Not sure what happened on your end. I've now received a couple updates providing different dates that I would receive my tax return, however still currently pending? It will be almost 3 months soon and nothing's happened. I've sent an email through last week with no reply, not sure why you are dodging me but ill be requesting the full fee to be waived from this service.
