Railway Motel & Function Centre

Nice, quiet and convenient place to stay when your in Kalgoorlie. It has its own restaurant where the food is ok, it's directly across from the train station and only a 5-10min into the main street. The only issue is the floor in my husband and my room collected dust.

Staff were very helpful. The room was clean, tidy and reasonable quite. Food prices in the in-house restaurant was comparable with other restaurants in the town. Large servings enough to satisfy anyone.

Nice breakfast but that’s where it ended. Rudest incompetent staff at reception Booked a year in advanced asked for two beds downstairs for elderly and was guaranteed but on arrival only one bed and they charged me extra for it as well Would not recommend to worst enemy

We stayed here for 3 nights with our elderly parents. We requested that our rooms be next to each other and assumed that our rooms would have been on the ground floor given the fact I informed the receptionist when making the reservation by phone. We struggled with luggage and our parents with no offer of assistance from staff when checking in. This motel caters predominantly for mine workers so you are woken up at 4am with noise and mine vehicles leaving the motel. The most unpleasant thing we experienced were people smoking continuously outside your room on the walkway verandah. The rooms were dirty, curtain tracks broken and curtains falling off. On a positive note there was a lovely young girl called ‘Em in Carriages restaurant who was cheerful, attentive and very helpful.Overall very disappointed with our stay and will not stay here again.

I had my wedding reception at the Railway Motel function room on the 6th of March and it was amazing Kris Day you are absolutely fantastic to deal with and helped me so much I wanna thank you from the bottom of my heart I would recommend you in a heartbeat thank you soo much
