Kata Tjuta - Valley of the Winds
We did the shortest walk to the 1st lookout, this place is so beautiful. The rocks, the views, the hills, it's spectacular! The car park is big, the first walk is easy, steady up hill over some loose rocks and solid rock. Amazing views over the back of Kata-Tjuta even from the first lookout. There is water and shade at the carpark, and toilets at the sunset viewing area.

Beautiful spot. Did it on a scorcher of a day but was worth the walk up to the top to enjoy the views. Bring more water than you think you need.

Great walk. Some place you need to be really agile to climb up or down some slippery rock. It's just harder for people who don't have good balancing skills. Great walk through. Two water stations but take a litre or more of water, especially when it is a warmer dsy.

The walk and the views are amazing. It's grade 4 and it means it. Steep and rocky pathways. It was completely worth the effort to do the walk. Make sure you refill your water at the water points and keep in mind there are only 2 points for that and both are near beginning and end of the circuit so you have to have enough water per person between these (I would suggest about 1.5 litter per person).Do the walk early in the morning or in the afternoon when the temperature starts to cool down. Keep in mind that the track is closed after 11am if the forecast temperature is 36 degrees (C) or more and there is a good reason for it. :)There are blue arrows showing the path, make sure to follow them. There is a lack of info on how much distance is left to get to the next point which would be very helpful to know when you are exhausted and need motivation to go on.Over all a must do walk cause the views are absolutely stunning.

Walk was great. Did it early morning to beat the heat. Well worth the walk especially when through the valley itself. Sight well worth the walk.

We did both of the lookouts there. It was an amazing experience as a family. Every one of us enjoyed it. August is a very pleasant time to visit it. There were nice breeze along the way. The road was rocky however, it made the whole experience unique!

We started at 1pm and did the full circle. Not very touristy like Uluru, Kata Tjuta is very nice place for long hiking with fabulous lookouts. It’s very windy and a bit rocky but still easy, suitable for kids and families. Make sure you bring lots of waters

Take lots of water, wear suitable footwear, sunscreen, wide brimmed hat and fly netting.A rocky trail that is very exposed. In extreme weather, this can be quite challenging. We travelled in February, and by 9am, the temperature was already 40 degrees, and with the heat from the rocky surface, it felt more like 48 degrees. The path itself is rocky and has a couple of steep climbs and a descent on rocks that can slip under your feet. The trail past the first viewing point closes at 11 am on hot days for safety reasons (extreme heat). It is best to do this walk very early in the morning. The trail past the first viewing point is the steepest part and needs to be traversed with care. The scenery is quite beautiful, and the flora is worth seeing.

Kata Tjuta - Valley of the Winds
I had not heard of Kata Tjuta before we arrived in NT but I have to say the Valley of the Winds walk rivals the Uluṟu walk. It’s amazing to get in-between these magnificent natural formations and get close to it all. We were a little nervous to do this ~8km (2-2:30hr) walk but it’s honestly very doable unless you have trouble walking on rough ground. It’s very rocky and there are a few inclines and descents. We completed in 2:15 with two kids in tow (youngest being 8) and had plenty of time before the “hop on hop off” bus came back to pick us up at 3hr mark. The driver “Snake Bite” is a legend and brings a lot to the experience. Definitely recommend putting this on your itinerary.

Amazing walk amongst the domes of Kata Tjuta. They are stunning. The track takes on the valley floor where you can actually see how tall some of these are. Make sure you have a fly net over your hat in the hotter months as they surround you.
