I've thoroughly enjoyed my first term at AMAA. Murali has been a real delight to work with. I was so surprised by my first drawing exercises - I feel like I have learnt so much about seeing and translating those details onto paper. The Bargue drawing exercises are really an incredibly powerful tool in tuning into the relationship between your eye and hand. I really feel as though I am learning technique... and Murali's mentoring is priceless in developing these skills. I love the 1:1 experience and spending a Saturday at the studio.The atmosphere is super friendly and supportive, it's really enjoyable getting to know everyone. I really love the whole process of learning and making new friends.

I highly recommend this art school! I was shocked at how well this school taught me representational drawing and painting, and training my eye how to see accurately. Murali is an incredible teacher, and has created an environment that is supportive and fun while teaching classical realism. Thank you so much for all you have taught me. From learning the drawing basics in Level 1 to producing professional portraiture paintings in Level 3, you can clearly see the progression from class to class. Murali provides a professional and supportive setting and truly cares about his students and their professional artistic development.

AMAA led by renowned Artist Murali Surya, has provided my daughter structured knowledge of classical art and has helped strengthen her foundation in drawing and creative thinking skills. Classes at the Atelier Melbourne Art Academy teaches students classical drawing and painting of he old masters based on the curriculum of the Florence Art Academy in Italy. The classes are professionally structured and expertly conducted with great communication and feedback in a supportive and social environment. In the first two terms I have taken, I have seen my artistic skills flourish and have a completely new understanding of how to progress my work. The classes are fun and everyone is friendly. I eagerly look forward to each class. Murali is a great teacher with a wealth of knowledge. He is patient, encouraging, supportive and motivating. Thank you Murali for bringing Atelier to Australia.

ANYONE WHO WANTS TO DRAW REALISTICALLY NEEDS TO CONSIDER THIS STUDIO! In my opinion it is the only place in Melbourne for an education in representational drawing and painting. Murali is an incredibly patient, informative and giving instructor, who not only offers the most extensive cast collection in the state, as well as world class studio facilities, but as an artist educated at the Florence Academy in Italy, he is able to impart timeless lessons in drawing and painting what you see ACCURATELY!These past twelve weeks have been a blast, and I am thoroughly looking forward to many more to come!

I've been looking for somewhere to learn some classical skills for a long time, daydreaming about going to Europe but not being able to afford it. Murali's classes are wonderful, his teaching style is patient, knowledgeable and thorough and his students were all happy, friendly and enthusiastic. I'm absolutely in love with these classes and learn so much from just a a two day workshop. I will absolutely be back for more!
