Currently enrolled with online classes. My experience has been a great one while learning the Italian language via zoom with Biagio. Carla has also been so very helping and quick with responses to my emails! Grazie :)

Great place to learn Italian. Friendly and expert language teachers guide you through the lessons. You are expected to speak in Italian as much as possible. The lessons include watching short films and listening to different voices speaking Italian. Supported by Lingopont online.

The fact that CIS is now offering online courses is a great opportunity for not only learners from Australia but also anybody (like me from Turkey) who would like to start Italian, improve and advance their level of this beautiful language. I discovered CIS when I started sharing their videos on my blog where I post Italian language lessons and cultural notes about Italy. I am now taking three different advanced online courses which I find very useful and at the same time very enjoyable. It is my third week and I have already learned so much both as a student and as an experienced teacher. The lessons are well-planned and the teachers are very qualified. Starting my days with CIS has increased my energy, enthusiasm and most importantly productivity. I really do hope that they will continue with online courses even when life gets normal because courses from CIS will always be on my agenda..

The Centre of Italian Studies offers the best lessons in Italian that we've ever experienced. At present, we are living in the USA, and previously had attended a number of Italian classes in USA and Italy, but we never seemed to make much progress. We are so pleased to be able to Zoom into the excellent classes, with inspiring teachers at CIS.

I have been going to classes here for a few years - the teachers are amazing and the community atmosphere is great! Prior to lock down the centre organised many different events - my favorite was trivia in Italian held at DOCS pizza in Carton! During lockdown the centre and teachers have continued classes via zoom and have worked so hard to make sure everyone is included and learning heaps with support available. The best bit though is after 3 weeks you can attend extra classes for free - as many as you want ! And they have so many classes at each level available throughout the whole week. Mi amo CIS!!

My experience of the classrooms was overall quite good. The teachers were enthusiastic and knowledgeable. However there are a number of shortcomings that spoil the experience. The administration of the school I would rate as poor. Regular changes to the teacher that was assigned to the class, no standard approach to teaching each teacher does their own thing. The Lingopont app, whilst a great resource is full of flaws and is not fully developed to be the best resource that it could be and finally, make sure you have realistic expectations expectations of how much Italian you are going to learn. If you do not have family or friends that you can practice with every day, you will only be able to say single words or string a very basic phrase together after attending the beginner classes. I decided to stop attending the classes, buy their workbook and work through it myself. I’ve progressed at the same rate as when I attended classes. You just have to allocate time each day to work on it. Good luck Ciao.

CIS is the best Italian school in Melbourne! I have been studying with CIS teachers for 3 years now! I started during the pandemic and I had a fantastic experience, even if it was online!I had my first class in person last week and look forward to joining extra classes as well! 5 stars to the teachers, staff and office! They have been always professional and kind to me, even when I was overseas last year, they accommodated all my requests! Grazie mille CIS!

CIS has been a life saver for me over the past few years. During the pandemic, when we had to stay at home, the CIS classes on Zoom were amazing and continue to be so. The teachers are fantastic, the learning materials are professional and challenging, and meeting other students has been a delight. Online, there are students from all around Australia, learning at different levels so it must be a huge challenge to organise classes to suit us all - but it happens. A virtual hug to all the staff, teachers and other students! Cinque stelle e ottimo lavoro!!

CIS offers a terrific range of classes and the excellent native speaking teachers go out of their way to ensure the students have a very enjoyable experience while improving their knowledge of Italian. I recommend CIS to anyone wanting to learn more about Italian and Italy.

Welcome to Italy. Well, It's almost like being in Italy ! This is a friendly Italian learning environment for those that want to learn the Italian language. Native speaking teaching staff engage with students to develop language skills in this environment with modern structures, processes and content required to learn, in our own little Italy, Carlton.
