The Gantry

Cool, jumped off it many times, plenty of awesome stingrays, great fishing spot (port Jackson sharks, trevally, snapper and different types of Eels like green morays/brown morays, pike Eels etc) great for scuba diving. Altogether great spot to bring your family, have a picnic and more.

Surprisingly great spot for a dive. Heaps of life in the shallow reef adjacent to the shore.

Bawley Beach is stunning. Pet friendly, secluded and beautiful. Thanks to locals and Mr Snow the Gantry was rebuilt for everyone to enjoy for a few more generations.

Nice beach, good for a family with kids. Waves were not too big but did notice a couple of blue bottles washed up on the beach. Public toilets available near the kids play area. Next to the car park.

Pier to jump off is very popular. There was a lot of seaweed in the water but I don't know if this is common or if we were just unlucky. Lots of parking and the great area accessed via the northern carpark is good for families.

Beautiful place, two chairs left and right of photo. Sheltered safe beach. Rock fishing and a pier around to the right. No toilets or water near by.

New gantry from what I last remembered, great spot for swimming and snorkelling. Lots of whale watching off the point.

Nice beach and area for kids and adultsNice place to swim.If want to drive right down. The road is rough.I'd say 4wd would be best.

Great easy shore dive site with entry next to the Gantry. Should avoid diving in front of the Gantry if there are fishermen or kids bombing :-) Fairly shallow dive with lots of marine life if you follow the reef around the right and then retrace your steps the nagivation is easy and last time we saw a giant cuttlefish, heaps of port jackson sharks and shovel-nosed rays. Lots of nudibranchs to find if you're into the macro life and usually quite a few friendly octopus who with some patience will come out of their hole to check you out (pic in the comments, he swam out to me and then tried to steal my glove). I am told there are quite a few seahorses if you look through the seaweed but we tend to avoid this area as it is a bit fragile.You will see some of the old whaling equipment on land and also under water. A gorgeous place.
