Black Marlin Motel Innisfail

Best part of this stay was the very amusing and helpful manager. Older style Motel, seems to be popular with workers . Well due for refurbishment, but that probably won't happen in the near future, as a sign out front says For Sale " ."

Very nice & clean room but I didn't get any sleep because all I could hear was a couple fighting all night in the room beside me. Bed was comfortable & pillows were good.

Motel manager rang me when I was travelling, still several hours away, wanting to know when I'd be there because he wanted to close office at 5pm- rude! The complimentary drink on arrival I assume was the 500ml bottle of Homebrand water in the fridge. I guess it was to be shared between the 3 people on our booking..... Some milk would have been more welcome- I think it's the first motel I've ever stayed where there hasn't been some milk for a cuppa. Linen was clean; room and bathroom could do with some detail cleaning, felt like we should be wearing thongs in the shower. Not enough room for off-street parking for all rooms. Go for a drive and lose your spot. Won't stay again, better motels in Innisfail for the same price range.

22/7/2019 Room 2. This is an old building. The owners have done a tasteful refurbishment to the smallish room. Small complementary bottle of bubbly and a couple of chocolates was a nice touch. The beds are comfortable, the room is clean. The shower is hot. There is only 1 chair (room sleeps 3). Plenty of coffee sachets but no tea, no toaster or microwave. Found a wet patch on the floor at the ensuite doorway – suspect the air conditioner drain is blocked? No hand towel or bath mat.

I had a women/girl literally unlock the door and walk in on me whilst I was asleep around 20:30-45, because I was asleep it didn't sink in until the following day.... 3.25/10 sorry but that's an honest appraisal.

Rooms are small but comfortable. Good bed and very clean. Good for overnight stay..

The rooms was very clean. Linen and towel good quality. Shower water pressure was fantastic and hot water lasts forever. Had complimentary water, chocolate, cookies and Champagne. Tastefully decorated and pet friendly. Reception staff was very welcoming. Highly recommended.

Stopped here after many days on the road and needed a break to do nothing. Very glad I did. Cool, quiet and tastefully decorated. It felt comfortable and clean. The wine and chocolate was a nice touch, as was the fresh milk and tea and coffee available, with the kettle already filled. Like most motels, I think if you had noisy neighbours that would be a problem but I fortunately did not. Would recommend. Thanks for a rejuvenating stay.
