Niche Timber Flooring

After a few false starts with some other tradies, Mark at Niche Timber Flooring was recommended by a friend as someone who could be trusted to rock up on time, provide an honest quote and treat my floors like they were his own. And that he did. Mark and his team were fantastic. My floors came up even better than my high expectations and he even talked me out of having one of my rooms done for the time-being, which saved me money. Mark is definitely trustworthy, reliable, has pride in his work and has his customer’s interests at heart. I’ll definitely be calling him back when that other room is due!

Whilst I agree with other reviews, that the work was really of a great quality, dealing with Mark was the most unprofessional company we have dealt with in a long list of trades, whilst doing major renovations. His subcontractors who did the install, significantly damaged our newly painted walls with their cowboy attitudes, and when asked to kindly be more careful, walked off the job. When Mark was called upon to make good the damage (only $150), he threatened to breach his overall contract and not do the actual sanding job which had been lined up for months. The entire house was ready for him, significant costs incurred in order to get furniture removal done ahead of time. It took much persuasion to get him to come and do the contracted work. Clearly all that was needed in the event of any unforeseen damage, is just some basic communication. Not to mention that all these trades are meant to carry insurance. As for making the balance of the payment, having had to travel internationally for my mother's funeral, immediately during the time he was doing the work, he literally emailed and texted 2ce a day hounding me for his payment, when standard payment terms are at least 7-14 days!. We had always paid everything immediately and indicated we would be back in the country in a few days time.Finally, he unplugged our the fridge and freezer whilst working at the property, causing hundreds of dollars damage, only to then deny it - when he was the only person with a key and the only person who had access to the premises while we were away for an entire week. Incredibly unprofessional and I couldn't possibly recommend this person to anyone else, given the enormous stress he has caused us. Complete disregard for a contract, and disrespect for the client's property.

I've had Niche Timber Flooring out to do my floors twice. Once to polish original timber boards in an old house, the second time to supply, install and polish timber floors in my new house. Both times Mark was such a pleasure to deal with. The work was terrific. My floors are so lovely. They always turned up when they said they would, the jobs were done within the time they said, the workers were always professional and the results speak for themselves, just beautiful. They were reasonably priced and were happy to answer all my questions. Nothing was too difficult for Niche to help out with, and I'd happily recommend them. Five stars!!!
