Fish And Chips

Don’t bother, go further down the road to the bakery. Was told 20min wait, was 36min. Completely stuffed our order. There were three orders made by our group over and hour (we arrived to Rainbow different times) everyone of us were told chicken salt was on our chips when they weren’t and the first group actually were told they had run out that day. Fish was nice though and the chips were good which warrant the two stars....

The best fish and chips in rainbow. Great service and the best chips I've had in years. Very friendly with great customer service and even better food. We will be coming back again

Staff were extremely rude, especially what looked like to be the manager. Very ironic considering they have signs preaching to be kind. We were in a group, everyone who ate seafood (calamari/ barramundi) felt sick, 2 of which threw up after. Would not feed this to my dog.

Finger licking good fish and chips, we should have ordered more!!! Will definitely come back when we visit the rainbow beach next time!

Chips great….really crunchy…..BUT the battered fish (flake) was difficult to cut, hard and rubbery!!! My husband who loves all seafood said “it’s the worst fish he’s ever had”

Sorry waiting more than 20 minutes for a burger chips and a grilled piece of reef fish only to discover a NEW guy had thrown the reef fish onto a locals BARRA burger! Oh sorry we' have to cook the grilled fish again! Sad that the burger and chips have been sitting waiting for close to 10 minutes. Not impressed...every customer is capable of reviewing this business and how sad that the guy who waited for his BARRA burger now has a reef burger! This was after he told me how GREAT they were...oops! With the burger and chips now being re-cooked I have to say waiting more than an hour isn't a good sales pitch. We were offered extra fish and when I suggested some calamari instead I was told no only fish....one visit was enough!

A tad slow but worth the wait. Chips were cooked to perfection and even had those crunchy ones that you go digging for (or stealing from other family members). Kids meal is portioned well for 7+ children. Prawn roll... delicious and a must try option.

Ignore the bad reviews and give it a try! I am glad I did. Looking at all the negative reviews I can’t help but feel they are just spoiled and entitled. I had great service but even if I didn’t, it’s fast food, just get your food and eat it :)Now, as for the food, I’ve been on the road for over a year and it is the best fish and chips I’ve had in some time. The batter is perfect, fish very fresh, chips crunchy, perfect amount of salt. It really comes down to a few elements but not many shops get it all right. And for the burgers they use ACTUAL beef mince, cooked medium, not the typical tasteless beef mash you’d get from fish and chipperies. I added some chili sauce to it for some oomph in flavor and it was amazing!

This has got to be the worst fish and chip shop on the east coast!!! The lady/owner who works there was rude and impatient from the get go. We decided not to eat there, told her to cheer up and she flipped us the bird in front of other customers. While we were there they messed up someone else’s order yet didn’t listen properly again and made another battered fish instead of crumbed.

Worst fish and chips in a long time! Grilled snapper was small and one bite it tasted like rubber. Chips were very average .. threw the whole lot in the bin. Don't waste your time or money.
