Tinakori Animal Farm
We just spent an hour driving to this place to find it closed and no one answering the phone (despite Google Maps saying it’s open today). Judging by a few minutes on the grounds, this place is not an animal farm anymore. It looks like a dump. We saw one horse and 2 donkeys.

We LOVE this place! Its our 2nd home.We've been coming here for 13 years and even though our kids are 16 and 14, they still love it!Its no 5star hotel, but thats why we love it. Comfortable, clean and relaxing. Janet and Ian are amazing- like grandparents to our kids.

Love seeing all the baby animals. Cuddling the Guinea pigs, feeding the alpaca, lambs, emus, goat, deer, ducks, chooks and kangaroos.

As for me, well I had the best time and wouldn’t hesitate to take children there as it is a beautiful way to learn about living on the land, about the responsibility of looking after animals and to experience something that most people only ever see in books or on TV. Michael enjoyed the stay immensely also, as there were photo opportunities everywhere.Janet and Ian share their remarkable, often difficult lives, and their home, living in the most beautiful country with the most amazing creatures. Take a break away with them and see their passion and lifestyle first-hand, but don’t expect to stay clean as it is a working farm!

Lovely place to relax. Kids will love the farm experience, specially feeding the animals. Janet the owner is such a lovely person and a welcoming host.
