The Geoff James Pool (Clovelly Ocean Pool)

Fabulous spot for snorkeling, high chance of seeing famous blue groupers. Gorgeous ocean pool and sandy beach ideal if you have small kids. Mid- week usually get a park in nearby car park. Cafe next to pool.

Looks great but no changerooms to note

Currently the pool is empty. There is some signage, but it still possible to unwittingly walk by the pool. And when it is bleak and raining, I have got to say, it is not as obvious as you may think that the pool is empty.I nearly jumped in.Putting a couple of signs, or even overturned chairs IN the pool, to make it obvious that it is empty, would be a good idea.

One of my favourite places on planet earth. Great place for snorkelling.

A nice little ocean pool that looks and feels like a swimming pool. Reasonably clean and well kept. Great for all ages.

Best place ever

Wander down the long concrete concourse towards the beach and if you’re not observant you may miss noticing this 4-lane 25 metre ocean pool tucked away on the left of the really big ocean pool that is Clovelly Bay. Built in the 60s and looking a bit worse for the wear, with heavy staining and a slimy coating, the setting of this one is it’s redeeming feature.Just next to a popular café and adjoining change and shower facilities, with loads of free parking, it has all the things… but it’s just not a great pool. Especially when compared with the enormous expanse of sheltered sea just next to it. We marked down The Geoff James Pool (Clovelly Ocean Pool). as one for the kids, while we moved on to a dip in the bay…
