Kym Barrett Psychology

Kym Barret has to be the best mental health practitioner I have ever engaged with and I'd wager one of the best psychologists in this city.I've seen a lot of people. From age 5 to age 28. I've been seeing Kym now for around 4 years and she has done more for me then all 7 mental health practitioners I've engaged with. She assisted me prior to my move interstate and then met with me after during COVID times. She made herself available to me as soon as she could and welcomed me back as though no time had passed. She understood me implicitly. I've always found Kym to have an additional layer most psychologists don't have and that is INSIGHT. Kym has assisted me through it all. From the heaviest of diagnosis, CBT and EFT therapy to day to day troubles. I have found Kym to be consistently kind, gentle, compassionate, wise and most of all focused on the best outcomes for me. When it felt like I had no place and was misunderstood Kym restored my faith in regularly using mental health services. Her understanding of diagnosis and treatment strategies are vast and nuanced. Kym has gone out of her way for me, where no one else would and I hold her solely responsible for my current managed stability, correct diagnosis and function. Her experience working with youth of all backgrounds shows. She walks the fine line between childhood and adult often bringing an awareness between the two and how they interact. She makes me feel safe, heard, understood and most of all hopeful. I'm writing this review after all these years because I googled her for an acquaintance and said the best person you could see is Kym". I was shocked to see there was no review
