Went in on the Thursday a couple weeks ago to book an appointment.Didn't get a confirmation call until 7:30pm that night, where a 3pm time slot was decided upon.Went in at 3pm the following day to find the only rostered agent already working with 2 other people.He then asked me to take a seat and wait.Confused from the situation. I asked him how long do I have to wait? My appointment was for 3pm?" and he replied with "about half an hour"I walked out. Won't be returning. I've done 4-5 tax returns here in previous years. But the staff aren't up to scratch anymore."

Excellent customer service provided by Jo-Anne Cane. She helped me to achieve the best possible outcome of tax return. Thank you very much Jo-Anne for assisting me throughout the process and resolving all my tax related problems. Really appreciate the extra time you have spent to critically think and providing the best solution at a very reasonable cost. Not going anywhere else for my tax problems, see you soon for FY 2022. H & R Block Penrith, the worst tax accountants I've ever encountered. Very poor and expensive service. 1 week down the line since engaging with a tax accountant to do my returns, they still haven't lodged it to the ATO. I have called every single day since last Friday, 29 July 2022 and was advised that someone will get back to me, I'm still waiting for a call back. I decided to physically take myself to the Penrith office to find out what was happening, spoke to Jo-Anne who assured me that my tax will be lodged by today, and that she would call me...again, nothing. I called the office today and was assured that I'll be called, you guessed it!!! No outcome. They charge you for services they don't provide. Their attitude is very poor and no one bothers to explain the whole process and what happens in the background. In essence, I coughed up $170 for a 10 minute poor 'service' by an accountant who seemed to be in a rush. Technically, the services I have paid for have not been provided. I'll be claiming a refund since it seems like my tax return will never be lodged to the ATO. Best of luck to anyone who is planning on engaging H & R Block Penrith services. Prepare yourself for disappointment and being overcharged for poor services. I wouldn't advise anyone and I mean anyone to use them.

I've been to different H & R Blocks over the years, with varying degrees of success. I only went this year as I thought I was getting a refund. I didn't and was out of pocket $130 for the fee. I would've left it until next year and got two years done at the same time. I also didn't like the drop-off format this year, as I felt it was very impersonal.

Their service is very poor. My partner went to their office and gave them all the documents that are needed for the lodgement of his tax return. The tax agent told him a misleading advice. After hearing what she said, I started to question her capability and her competency.After 4 weeks, his tax return wasn't lodged, so he sent an email of complaint. They then asked him to go to the office- the tax agent told him that he will be paying ATO 48 thousand. He was very surprised, he then found out that she made a huge mistake no wonder ATO rejected it when she lodged it before. It was rectified and what he owes to ATO went down to 7 thousand. They then again promised him that it will be lodged after 4 days, but until now we are still waiting in vain. It’s already been 6 weeks considering that all documents were provided towards the end of June.People go to tax agents and pay fees hoping to seek professional support/advice not the other way around.This concern can be escalated to fair trading for them to investigate and check the competency and check the qualifications of H&R tax agents.

I had a phone appointment on the 5th of July with a tax agent named Robert. I was fully prepared with all of my receipts and relevant information at the time of the appointment. I mentioned three times to Robert that, not only do I have my employment income, but that I also have $150 of personal sole trader business income to report. He kept telling me that I needed to lodge a completely separate tax return to report that income. He said I could just do that online. Since he's the professional, I trusted his judgement and signed off on the tax return that he prepared that did not include my business income.A few days later, I called the ATO to find out how I go about reporting my $150 of business income since I couldn't find anywhere on the ATO website to do so. The ATO representative informed me that it needed to be declared in my personal tax return since I'm a sole trader. They informed me that if I failed to declare it in my personal tax return, that I would be fined upwards of $200 (which is $50 more than I'd earned from my business during the entire financial year).So I had to call Robert and get him to change it. He asked me to upload a couple of documents to the online portal regarding this business income - I did so immediately. I included my ABN as a comment on both documents. Then I get an email from Robert a few days later asking what my ABN is. I provided it again. Then I didn't hear anything from him. So I called again after another few days to ask if I needed to sign anything regarding the changes to my tax return. He said I do... but he hadn't uploaded them to the portal. They were uploaded a day or two later, so I signed them. At this point I discovered that I was being charged extra by HR Block for including the business income - which is hilarious given I would've been fined by the ATO for failing to include it, under HR Block's expert" advice.Two weeks from the date of my initial appointment - my return still hadn't been lodged. So I called and asked to speak to the manager. I was told he/she would call me back. They did not.So the next day (now two weeks + one day from the date of my initial appointment) I called again. It still hadn't been lodged. I asked to speak to the manager. I was told they would call me back. The reception staff were very helpful, friendly and accommodating when booking an appointment over the phone and when seen upon the appointment date.My husband and I both had our tax done tonight and we would highly recommend Mr Arshdeep Singh if you need to get your tax done. Mr Singh was friendly, cheerful, professional and very thorough - making sure that we got the best out of our return that we could. By far the best person we have ever had our tax done by.Thank you for making it a great experience.

Not happy with the charging fee.Got told from a account that because you are over 21 you have to pay $154. I am only claiming for individual tax, most tax return has the price showing clearly. This one has a very confusing price chart. Not been advertised anywhere on their website. Not recommend!

I recently went to H&R block to get my tax returns done. Robert was my tax consultant and he’s done an amazing job. Good and fast service. A little on the pricey side, but I guess the pricing is tiered depending on your deductions & investments. But I do recommend!
