HER

Very stunning rooftop bar with good music. Great range of cocktails and drinks in a beautiful location. Well organised venue so never had to wait too long in lines for drinks. Building is beautifully done with the city view. All level have their own unique layout. Great place to relax and catch up with friends :)

I went to HER for an Xmas dinner with friends and was pleasantly surprised with my vegan courses they provided for me. It was sooo delicious and the presentation was also very pretty. My meat eating friends were all jealous of my meals!We went up to the rooftop bar for some post dinner drinks but it was way too crowded. But the city views were lovely! I plan to return later this year.

HER is a 5-storey, heritage-listed site with strong ties to Melbourne’s art scene. It is a drinking, dining and music venue from the HQ group. You can find the rooftop on Level 5 which serves up Thai dishes from the restaurant below. On Level 3 is the Music Room - a soundproof bar fitted with velvet booths stocked with good drinks and vinyls. HER Bar is the ground floor where you can dine from their all day menu. I appreciate a nice space when I see one but unfortunately the food didn’t live up to it.Nothing particularly stood out but if I had to choose a favourite, it would be the Duck. Although it was only lukewarm on arrival, the meat itself was very tender to the point the knife needed very little pressure, the skin was thin and crispy and it was cooked medium rare to a T. The jus was also nicely balanced, and the duck soaked it up nicely. Is it good enough to make me want to return for it? No. But it was good for a bar.The gnocchi was over cooked, way too soft and mushy, and the flavours weren’t prominent. I tasted mostly the potato and cheese.The kingfish was okay, again no real standout flavours and I feel the sour cream should’ve been swapped out for something that would elevate the whole dish tenfold. The portion and amount of fish was good though.The tartare wasn’t my favourite. Again no standout flavours. I was expecting a side of crisps to scoop the tartare with as I’ve had at other venues. The fries were a strange choice and made for an awkward meal. The side of anchovy mayo was good but not much of an anchovy taste to it. It just tasted like regular aioli to me.Overall I can’t say I recommend this venue for a good feed. Maybe stick to the other levels where it might have more of a vibe to it during the night and you’re only there for drinks. Or perhaps Level 4 with the Thai food is better?

Stopped in for coffee on a public holiday when many other spots were closed and couldn’t resist trying a few dishes. Was hoping breakfast would be on offer but small plates made a good stand in. The figs, stracciatella and hazelnut with honey was a standout, as was the duck jaffle.

Not the biggest fan of their rooftop bar but I'll definitely be back to the bar on the ground floor. Such a fun venue for pre-dinner drinks and nibbles.The Escargot and Octopus was bomb. I would skip the Zucchini flowers, it was too sweet for my own personal taste.Highlight was the Gaytime milk punch cocktail!

ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE restaurant in Melbourne!!! I can not fault anything that I’ve tried for their menu, including their delightful selection of drinks. Their food is beautifully flavoured with the perfect texture (pork). It was also relatively cheap in comparison to other restaurants with this quality of food. Staff is also very kind and helpful. Will be back 100%

Amazing food, sneakily good wines, incredible staff. Deserts were the crowning glory, which is hard considering the superb lamb and duck confit jaffle.I was able to revisit HER on Saturday and am happy to report it has maintained a high standard in food, especially the deserts. Of added note is the service provided by Angie on the day, easily the best experience I've had from waitstaff in recent memory. She elevated a nice dining experience to a truly memorable meal, taking care of our table making it a truly special occasion. Thank you, Angie!

Had a great time with my partner at Her Bar at the ground level, only realised there is a rooftop bar later. The staff were very friendly and was quick to provide service even though it was very busy. Would try the rooftop bar next time.
