Top food and a very good atmosphere also great prices

Sitting next to the warm fire is a must on a cold day like today. The dining area encased in stones warmed quickly and the beer, burger and lamb pie went down a treat in the friendly atmosphere. Kids meals come out quickly, which is great as that calms them down from bouncing around.The bar area is an eclectic assortment of trophies from game hunts past, old farm implements, biker gear, fishing expeditions and an elf from the Myer xmas windows from the 1980's. Although slightly intimidating, the area is softened by the friendly barmen and welcoming smiles.Tasty meals, friendly service and what looks like a tidy beer garden out the back will bring me back to relax in summer!

Loved this place. Friendly staff, great food and beautiful outdoor area we could sit with our puppy. Cant wait to go back.

1 star at best! Because of nice rustic feel venue but other than that we ordered 2 rib eye on the bone, ordered them medium but told em that we would rather closer to medium rare and was assured that's how they would come out.... well... close to the bone was medium well and the rest of steak was well done! I felt like getting a refund and leaving, complained and told them we would still eat steak as we didn't want to wait an hour for another steak to come out because we had kids with us. no wonder why they take payment upon ordering here and not a bill at the end of the meal. Older kids parmas were just okay but our younger kids parmas (kids meal parma) were like beef jerky on sides and were worse quality than those schnitzels from supermarket deli. They replaced kids meals but new ines were not much better and had to cut off the chewy bits!!! Will never be back here... over $200 on dinner and still going elsewhere to eat dinner.. unbelievable!Unfortunately don't have pictures of steaks but got photos of chewy kids parmas

Pretty impressed with both the steak (how it was cooked) and the generous portions. Yes, it's the high end of the price scale, but you won't be walking away disappointed.Pretty relaxed, great for families with high chairs available...

How much does this place need my review ....NOT AT ALL !!.This historical country pub is a not to be missed" place to visit when you come to Bendigo. Over 150 years old you can imagine yourself in England or Ireland

Visited second time.Food was very tasty and fresh.Staff was very polite.

Had dips for entree,fantastic.Main meal Gazzas pie,I have never tasted a pie like this before, it was superb, I would highly recommend it.
