Amazing staff, Dr’s, nurses, wardies and social worker. They do an amazing job, I can’t thank them enough for the guidance during this stressful time. Not to mention I’ve never dealt with issues like this before. Thank you team!

The emergency staff, especially the nurse, were excellent with their patient care. The doctor was great too.

I have just spent a couple of weeks as an inpatient in ward ten at Maleny Hospital. I would just like to say that I have never experienced such expert and caring attention. I found the nursing staff very friendly and they made my stay there extremely comfortable. A special mention to Julie Wanda, Wendy Caitlan and Ken and to all the other staff especially the physios who were on hand to assist with any help needed. I’m now home and doing very well.

Came in via ambulance with severe abdominal pain 9/10, accompanied with severe dizziness and vertigo. I have really bad anxiety when it comes to ambulances and hospitals, but everyone from the paramedics to the doctors and nurses were amazing! I ended up having to be transferred to SCUH, which ended with me discharging myself waiting 3 days to hear the results from tests that were done 3 days ago. I highly recommend Maleny Hospital, everyone is professional, warm, kind hearted and go above and beyond to help their patients. l have nothing but praise for their treatment of me and their constant updates on what was happening. Thank you so much!

Absolutely horrible emergency department, you'd be better off going to a vet to get fixed.First time I experienced this hospital was when my boyfriend at the time at alcohol poisoning (yes his fault). The nurse who saw him was absolutely horrible, telling him he deserved it and he was wasting her time (no one else was waiting in the hospital AT ALL). She went to put a drip in and missed the vein a few times and would laugh each time. She kept going on about how 'this is why Jesus says it's bad to drink' blah blah. She was nothing but rude and condescending.Come the second experience with this horrible hospital. My boss experienced a massive pain attack at work, said her insides felt like they exploded and she couldn't walk. I rushed her to the emergency at Maleny where I waited for 2 hours while they did 3 blood tests. Doctor came out and told me it was all in her head and she was just stressed and over reacting. Sent her home with some codine and she still couldn't walk from pain. Went to her GP the next day where they called an ambulance and had her taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital. Gallbladder was massively infected and full of stones, and she had emergency surgery straight away. But according to the Asian doctor at Maleny, it was 'all in her head'. Docs at Sunny Coast Hospital said they've only ever heard horrible things about Maleny.Third incident. I myself had to go to the emergency room due to dislocated shoulder. I go to reception with my boss who drove me and was met with the RUDEST human being I have met. Larger lady, think she was a nurse. Told me to go away and that I should have seen a GP. Funny story woman, I was sent to the ER from my GP! She kept that condescending voice, going on about how I have to leave and go back to my GP so they can 'manage a workplace injury'. I was in 10/10 pain and just wanted my shoulder popped back in and had no patience for her rudeness and told her to cut it out. There NO ONE else in the waiting room at all, yet I sat there for 2.5 hours waiting for them to push my shoulder back into place. While waiting, I witnessed her yell at an elderly man, tell him that he was wasting her time as he was also sent there from his GP. He kept his cool up until the end when he looked at me and my boss and asked if we had received the same horrible treatment. When I was finally seen, Dr Alex Frost asked the most irrelevant questions about a previous jaw problem and even wrote it in my medical letter for work cover! Like excuse me, what the hell does TMJ have to do with my shoulder being dislocated. In conclusion, I wouldn't go back to this hospital even if I was on fire. Useless doctors and the RUDEST nurses/receptionist I've ever met. My boss could have actually died if she believed what she had been told and I hope she follows up the complaint with the medical board.

I spent some time sitting beside my brother at the Maleny hospital while he waited for an ambulance to take him to Scuh after a nasty encounter with an angle grinder. He was so carefully attended to by nurse and doctor while he waited for the ambulance. I love our public health system and I feel deeply relieved we have such warm brilliant staff in this hospital in this country town.

It’s taken me a while to leave this review as I was quite upset. Brought our then 18 month old daughter in back in June this year because she had a high fever, vomiting, not eating or drinking. We had flown in from Sydney Days before but weren’t in any of the hot spots. We told them immediately as we entered where we were from as do to the right thing. They said it was fine and brought our daughter in. Our daughter was lethargic and clearly unwell. As they put us into a room they left then came back and their whole attitude changed, they clearly wanted us out ASAP..clearly distressed about us being from Sydney with Covid being on the rise. It took them two seconds to look over our daughter and sent us on our way. They said it just looks like a virus and to just give her a bath and watch her temp. I told them I wasn’t happy with this and that she’s clearly not well. But they were adamant that she was fine. We’re clearly not doctors so we took their word. My husband and I left not happy and still very worried. She downhill that night and we rushed her to Sunahine coast hospital. They took her in and did a thorough check of her. Turns out she had a UTI as well as a chest and throat infection. She needed antibiotics and fluids. Hasn’t Maleny hospital ever heard of “Ryan’s rule”? Over looking the heath of a child is actually illegal. If we didn’t take her straight to another hospital as she got worse UTI’s turn into a much more serious issue. If you have children, DO NOT take them here. Head straight to Sunshine Coast hospital. When I told Sunshine Coast hospital about our experience they were horrified and encouraged us to put a formal complaint in..which I still intend on doing. We all understand the severity of Covid, but denying a child the proper care because you’re concerned we “might” of had it is disgusting.
