Mt Barney Lodge

Just finished camping for 4 nights (Wednesday - Saturday). This place is awesome and will feature on my regular spots" list.When I go bush camping I go to get away from the noise and disturbance of normal life. I don’t want to hear other people’s music or loud parting into the night. Mr Barney Lodge meets my criteria.This camping spot is quiet and peaceful. During the day there were some families with kids that made noise that you would expect from families with kids. It was the noise of kids having fun “hey look at the big goanna…” - no issue here. My family and I stayed in Henry's Hut for four nights. The hut has a firewood stove which really helped to keep the hut warm! There was plenty of room for us and the hut can sleep up to seven people. It also has a large fridge, microwave, outside barbeque and plenty of places to sit outside and enjoy the serenity. The modern and clean toilets and showers were right next door in the amenities block with high pressure hot water that was welcome. Next time I think we'll camp as there is plenty of space to spread out! The office staff were very friendly and helpful too; we would definitely return and recommend Mt Barney Lodge Country Retreat to everyone who loves the Scenic Rim.

We stayed in the Mt Barney Lodge campground and absolutley loved it! Being out of phone range was amazing as it allowed us to fully engage in our surroundings, and we made the most of every minute! The staff were awesome here, helping us pick which trails and mountains to climb as it was sooooo hot when we went. Would come back in a heart beat. Best weekend away spot by far!!

I did the navigation workshop at Mt Barney Lodge 2 years ago. The skills I learned have acconpanied me since and enabled me to do many awesome off-track walks I would not have been able to do before.I did not expect to learn enough to safely and effectively navigate in one weekend course - but I did, regularly using it afterwards of course.Innes' traching was excellent, he was clearly very experienced and knowledgable and was very good at explaining navigational techniques in an easy-to-understand way. During the practice walk on day 2 we practiced everything in the field.He also gave instructions on how to continue, practice and apply what we learned - I did everything and have become competent and confident at navigating anywhere with map and compass since.The freedom of being able to go anywhere, independently and self-sufficiently, is incredibly rewarding amd satisfying!Doing this course has opened the door for me to have the best outdoor experiences of my life and has continued to make me happy since.I highly recommend the navigation workshop to anyone interested in outdoor activities, it is a great investment into long-term enjoyment!Also, the location is really good, interesting area, and the campground at the lodge very pretty and peaceful.

Overnight stop in the Mt Barney campervan. Had the whole resort to ourselves for a mid-week stay. The site was green and well kept and access to the Lodge was easy despite 70mm of rain the night before. Hosts were very helpful and happy to give advice. The view from the camper was unbeatable and it was well fitted out, clean and comfortable. Pack your own pillows, linen and esky for an easy stay. Amenities block was spotless, and well fitted out. Good opportunity for a reconnaisance trip before planning a trip up the mountain. Be sure to heed the advice before attempting the climb.

Back again after 6 month, beautiful weather even in December and still very well maintained site, there were more people during the new years period but everyone is very respecful to each camper, managers are always on site providing excellent service. We love the way the camp was ran, very happy with the guide lines the owners provided. we had an excellent experience camping at Mt. Barney Lodge

We stayed here to camp for 4 nights.Toilet and showers were clean and well maintained. The doors on the toilets is not suited for all as it's tight space and opens inwards, the group I was with says the same and reccomends swapping the doors to open outwards.We had a large group of 10 with a mix of children and adults.Close to open fields and lots of space for children to run.Quick walk down to the creek where you can rock hop and play in the running water.Walk to the bottom of Mt Barney and close to some amazing water holes.Lots of wildlife.There is minimal reception and minimal access to electricity which was great as we wanted a tech free time away, just ensure to keep this in mind when planning.We would go and stay again

The perfect location if you are going for a hike in Mt Barney.It is just right beside the Mt Barney. Literally 20mins walking distance. And there is a very clear signboard there showing the lodge.The camp site is well maintained. They claimed they are the best camp site in qld and it is one of the best I experienced so far.The staff is very well knowledge about the surrounding so don't feel shy to ask for anythingDrinkable tap water is around the camp site. Fireworks on sales.Overall it is a very well maintained camp site. It is good.

There is nothing like waking up, at the base of Mt Barney to start your day right. Hot showers, fresh drinking water, running creek, great staff with knowledge of local walks.

Went to Mt Barney Lodge for a camping weekend with a few mates. We all had a great time, fantastic location, good facilities and excellent customer service. Will return.
