Novotel Devonport

Staff are very friendly and attentive. The hotel is really new and modern. I see mixed reviews for the restaurant, but I think it’s not that bad. Agree that the flavours aren’t so authentic but it’s doable. A tip is to ask for chilli so that it makes everything taste much better!

Very nice hotel. However, it pains me to say that the food in the restaurant was dreadful! Bearing no relationship to any Asian food I have ever eaten. Sloppy noodles with tasteless sauce. Potatoes added to most dishes. Meat in one of my dishes was allegedly pork, it was grey tasteless and freezer burnt! I think the cuisine is beyond the current skill levels of the chefs. My advice - do a few things really well and leave Asian food- Thai, Malaysian, Singaporean, to the experts. I gave my feedback to the front desk it was received defensively with arched eyebrows and surprise. I can only think the staff have not had exposure to beautifully cooked Asian cuisine. I worked in Singapore for 8yrs and the food was complex, packed with flavour and expertly cooked, on no occasion did I have a poor meal. Regrettably you have quite a gap to close. Let’s hope you get there.

Beautifully appointed rooms. Spotlessly clean (I'm fussy) and staff were super helpful. Raj, in Food and Beverage, was especially friendly, helpful and efficient. We're booked here again in two weeks so very much looking forward to a return visit.

We spent two nights in in the brand-new Devonport Novotel in February 2023 and had a lovely stay. Rooms are large and very comfortable, with great views of the port. It's fun to watch the ferries and boats roll in and out. We didn't eat in the restaurant but enjoyed evening drinks in the lovely sunny location - very relaxing.

Star accomodation place just down the roadThat experience was so bad we only stayed 1. night out of the 4. that we originally booked forWe went ahead and rebooked the rest of our stay at The Novotel DevonportThis experienced was first class beautiful rooms , magnificent views , friendly staff , who couldn’t do enough for us secure parking as well .Each time we visit Devonport to see a grand children we will stay there for sure whether it be 1. night or 1. monthGreat work TeamJulie and Terry Jacobson

It's great to see a new hotel in Devonport! The location is fantastic and the bed was very comfortable. However, the room was quite dusty and cold throughout my stay - the aircon kept turning on automatically. The room also lacked some basic items like cutlery and crockery (good to have in a town with limited evening dining options) and a toilet brush. I also had an issue where I sat on one of the lobby chairs and it left a blue stain on my clothes - when I raised this with staff they acted with a level of indifference you'd not expect of Novotel.

Excellent hotel. This is brand new, so it’s still fresh and beautiful. The beds are absolutely amazing. The bathroom has a great large shower. The Nescafé 43 in the room is simply awful. There are not power points on both sides of the bed (two queen room). Book in advance, we were planning to book a standard room, on the day for $178. Three hours later, all the standard rooms were booked, so we had to book a superior room for $235. The view was not worth the extra $57. We ate at good guys restaurant in Hobart and it was awful, so we were disappointed to see it repeated here. Kathy at the front desk was excellent,

It’s a new hotel. Our tour guide said, it opened in November 22.Nice clean room. Good location. Good sea & garden view from our room.Technology such as auto dimming lights in hallways.I was disappointed on day one though. We arrived late in the evening, so placed the order for room service using QR codes. Order had gone through, but it never reached the kitchen.I had to manually order over the phone.I could not place the morning breakfast order eitherDinner that eventually arrived in the room was very disappointing. I never had another meal at this hotel over 5 days we stayedHad continental breakfast on the morning of checkout. That was okayFurniture in the room not good enough. No side tables. One table between the bed had no drawers. Only two chairs for a room with two double beds. Chair weren’t comfortable either to enjoy the view from windowsHotel is more for business people, I thinkI wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you’re a tourist visitor.There were no information brochures or file whatsoever in the roomAll the staff however were friendly and helpful.Another disappointment, they charge you $20 per day to park in their car park. Not fair , especially when you have selected an upgraded two room for 5 days.They have EV charging facility. This is definitely a plus from me.

Chose to have breakfast one morning but felt it was average for the price. Great location and staff accommodated us for parking. Rooms were lovely and clean, good service, friendly staff. Would definitely stay again.

Room was nice , comfortable bed, 3 sugars and 1coffee sachets plus a tiny milk. Felt very over priced especially if you also want parking in price but told to just park in the street.. staff in Asian restaurant very polite and helpful....8 days in Tassie staying in motels where we had all tea coffee available also microwave oven , free parking and friendly service on each occasion..
